It’s a complex issue, and to put it bluntly, I sometimes struggle with feelings of inadequacy, which can make me question my worthiness to live.

At the moment the initial photo was snapped, she had been struggling to step outside due to fear and was emotionally battered by her ongoing fight against depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

‘This was the result of being put down my whole life especially by people close to me.

The individual on the right side was struggling severely, dealing with a multitude of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, BPD, and an eating disorder. There were moments when I wished fervently not to rise each day, as I longed to escape the torment of these feelings.

However, it’s important to clarify that this isn’t about seeking sympathy or wallowing in self-pity. Instead, my aim was never to be a victim but to persevere, overcome, and ultimately succeed. And I did just that.

As Jelena climbed up the tennis ranks to reach the No. 4 position globally, she endured both physical and emotional mistreatment at the hands of her coach father, Damir Dokic.

For many years, she’s been candid about the hardships she faced under her father’s authority, as detailed in her book “Unbreakable.” In this memoir, she reveals that he often subjected her to physical abuse with a belt or a hard-soled boot, and on one occasion, he delivered a beating so severe that it left her unconscious.
