Call the Midwife’s Helen George questions recent co-star exit reports
As a devoted fan of “Call the Midwife,” I’ve grown attached to the characters and their stories over the years. The rumors about Miriam Margolyes departing from the show have left me feeling like a long-lost friend has moved away unexpectedly.
Actress Helen George, known for ‘Call the Midwife’, addressed speculations about her fellow cast member Miriam Margolys leaving the BBC series.
Tonight, during interviews on the red carpet at the National Television Awards (NTAs), George expressed doubts about whether the rumors surrounding Joanna Margolyes’ departure were actually accurate.
The Trixie Aylward actor implied that it’s uncertain if Margolyes is truly giving up her role as Mother Mildred, suggesting she might continue in the character.
George went on to say, “It seems to me she hasn’t been involved recently,” and then he added, “Perhaps the tabloids may have misunderstood the situation.
George confessed that he’d only recently become informed about the rumors suggesting Margolyes’ possible exit, despite being generally knowledgeable about such reports.
“I literally just heard that 30 seconds ago,” she said. “I think it’s bollocks, to be fair.”
Reflecting on delightful moments shared with Margolyes, George acknowledged there were several amusing, albeit quite explicit stories about the well-known comedian laden with colorful language, but unfortunately, they remained untold.
As George, I can’t deny it – I do munch on an onion for breakfast, just like Margolyes often shares.
In the meantime, George comforted the fans of Call the Midwife, telling them that Trixie will be back at Nonnatus House. This is because she has decided to rejoin her husband Matthew after their move to New York for a new beginning. He hinted that bigger and better events are coming up in the series.
Just announced on their social media platforms, the cast of “Call the Midwife” has resumed filming after the summer hiatus. This beloved series will grace our TV screens once again this holiday season with a special Christmas episode. The new season, number 14, is set to premiere in 2025.
Call the Midwife airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
