50 Cent files motion to drop his defamation lawsuit against ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy

As a seasoned moviegoer who has witnessed the rise and fall of many celebrities, I find myself both intrigued and saddened by the latest chapter in the tumultuous life of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The ongoing legal battle with his ex, Daphne Joy Narvaez, is a stark reminder that fame doesn’t always shield one from personal turmoil.

50 Cent, also known as Curtis Jackson, has decided to withdraw his lawsuit accusing his former partner, Daphne Joy Narvaez, of harming his reputation.

In March, it was alleged on social media by Narvaez (Jackson’s second son’s mother) that the rapper had committed rape and physical abuse. These claims emerged following Jackson continuously mocking her, referring to her as a “sex worker” in the publicized sexual misconduct lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs by Lil Rod, which was managed by Bad Boy Entertainment.

Narvaez expressed strong disappointment in the untruths presented in Rodney Jones’ lawsuit, specifically the accusation that he is a sex worker. He stated this claim is completely baseless and amounts to character defamation. To address this issue, he has hired a lawyer to investigate potential legal actions against both Rodney Jones and his attorney.

In a subsequent message directed towards Jackson, Narvaez emphasized the need to concentrate on his alleged crimes such as rape and physical abuse, stating, “From now on, it’s not me who is controlling our relationship anymore, and my faith will take care of your actions. You are no longer my oppressor.

50 Cent, known for his “In da Club” hit, swiftly refuted the accusations and about two months later, initiated a defamation case in the District Court of Harris County, Texas – a place he has resided since 2021.

Currently, due to unspecified motives, he’s petitioning the judge to terminate the lawsuit as stated in court papers acquired by The Times. His Monday submission declared that he “drops all his claims” against Narvaez “without prejudice,” which implies he can refile it at a later time.

On Wednesday, neither Jackson’s nor Narvaez’s representatives responded promptly to The Times when asked for a comment.

In a May complaint reviewed by The Times, Jackson asserted that upon discovering Narvaez was labeled as a “long-term adult entertainer” in Lil Rod’s second amended complaint, he swiftly initiated legal proceedings to rescind the OnlyFans model’s full custody over their son. According to his allegations, she responded with her Instagram post, causing distress and turmoil.

Jackson’s legal team characterized Narvaez’s action as a deliberate effort to tarnish his personal and professional image, harm his commercial and business endeavors, interfere with his child custody case, and prevent him from visiting his minor son. They categorized her statement as both defamatory and unequivocally untrue.

Additionally, they mentioned that they offered Narvaez numerous chances to either revise or withdraw her statements. The filing contains a letter from Jackson’s legal team dated April 2nd, requesting a retraction. His lawyers asserted that Narvaez’s attorneys countered by asking for millions of dollars and the dismissal of his custody case in exchange for removing the post, which the lawsuit deemed as “extortionate in essence.

Initially, Jackson demanded compensation exceeding $1 million, an injunction to take down the controversial post, and requested that his former partner avoid making further harmful remarks in the future.
