As a seasoned gamer with countless hours logged into the expansive Star Wars universe, I must say this week’s releases have left me utterly thrilled! The grand finale of the 2020 run of Star Wars is here, and as someone who grew up idolizing Luke Skywalker, I can hardly wait to delve into his tales from the Rebellion era.
Today’s the day! Let’s dive into this week’s installment of Comic Chronicles: Star Wars Edition! This week is particularly exciting, as one of our primary series reaches its climax, new trade paperbacks to explore, and two malevolent forces embark on a hunt for Jedi.

Star Wars #50
This week marks the conclusion of the 2020 run for Star Wars, as issue 50 hits the stands. Divided into four distinct tales, this colossal issue has been referred to as a mini-trade paperback due to its abundance of content. The narrative follows Luke Skywalker recounting his experiences in the Rebellion to his nephew Ben Solo, exploring various periods in Star Wars history. The pen is mighty by Charles Soule, the brush is skillfully wielded by Madibek Musabekov, and Leinil Francis Yu provides the cover art for this momentous issue.
Inquisitors #3
If you’re a fan of wicked female duos, this comic is just for you! The Jedi hero Tensu Run is spreading optimism throughout the galaxy, but it falls to the Seventh Sister and the Ninth Sister to track him down. However, Tensu is no ordinary Jedi who has already outsmarted other Inquisitors. They must either stop him or face Lord Vader’s retribution. Inquisitors #3 is penned by Rodney Barnes, illustrated by Ramon Rosanas, and the cover art is provided by Nick Bradshaw.

Star Wars: Darth Vader Vol. 9 – Rise of the Schism Imperial
Beginning now, one of two trade paperbacks currently out is titled “Star Wars: Darth Vader Vol. 9 – The Rise of Imperial Schism“. In the Empire, treachery is brewing under the watchful eye of the cunning Sly Moore. Unbeknownst to many, she and Darth Vader form an alliance to bring down Emperor Palpatine and uncover the deepest mysteries hidden within the Sith. The author is Greg Pak, while Leinil Francis Yu is responsible for the cover art.
Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Rebellion Vol. 6
This week, fans of Star Wars Legends can get their hands on “Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Rebellion Vol. 6“. Set just before “Return of the Jedi“, the Rebel Alliance is finding it tough to secure allies. They are forced to make deals that may aid or hinder their cause. Packing more than 20 issues from the Dark Horse Comics series, this isn’t a book you’d want to skip if you’re fond of the Expanded Universe.
