As I delve into the captivating tale of Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum, I can’t help but marvel at the whirlwind romance that unfolded between these two extraordinary individuals. From their serendipitous encounter at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar to their eventual nuptials in 2003, their journey is a testament to the unpredictable nature of life and love.
Previously, Dave Grohl confessed to infidelity during his first marriage with Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, now he’s working hard to preserve his current union following the revelation of a child born outside his second relationship.
55-year-old lead singer of Foo Fighters, married to Jordyn Blum since 2003, left fans surprised on Tuesday as he disclosed the arrival of an unexpected baby girl born outside his current marital relationship, in a stunning social media announcement.
“I’ve just welcomed a brand-new baby girl into my life, who was born outside of marriage. I am committed to being a caring and nurturing father to her.
I deeply cherish my spouse and kids, and I’m making every effort to rebuild their trust and seek their pardon. We appreciate your thoughtfulness towards all the children concerned, as we navigate this journey together.
In 1997, Grohl ended his three-year marriage with Youngblood following confessions of extramarital affairs, as reported by The Guardian.

He wed the photographer in 1994 – as the Foo Fighters debuted – but had separated by 1996.
After his marriage ended, Grohl reportedly started dating Louise Post from the band Veruca Salt.
The romance ended when during a 1997 show in Australia, a drunk Post claimed Grohl cheated on her with Winona Ryder.
In 2006 she said: ‘I didn’t mean for it to happen. I’m friends with him now.’
Grohl has denied ever hooking up with Ryder.
The departure of Grohl from Youngblood’s group led to significant turmoil within the band. In fact, their guitarist, Pat Smear, who held a close friendship with Youngblood, aligned with her and took an eight-year leave from the band.
In his own words, Grohl expressed that at the time of their union, he and his wife were both just 25 years old. They felt they weren’t quite ready for marriage yet. He deeply misses her, as she is one of the funniest and most unique individuals you could ever encounter in life.
Extremely cute, but I wish we hadn’t tied the knot. Regretfully, life goes on, and wisdom is gained along the way.

Grohl suggested that the song “Everlong” was influenced by his feelings for Youngblood, explaining: “I was in the midst of ending a long-term relationship, so I was going through an intense emotional phase. Somehow, playing this sequence of chords triggered the same emotions I felt during that time.
Since I was emotionally moved, I found myself penning the verses for this tune, as they originate from an authentic part within me.
The Foo Fighters’ debut single “This Is A Call” was penned during their 1994 honeymoon trip to Dublin, Ireland.
Youngblood designed the initial album cover for Foo Fighters, which subtly references the science fiction character Buck Rogers and his disintegrator pistol, the XZ-38.
In 1996, Dave appeared alongside Jennifer in an episode of The X Files from Season 3, Episode 17.
In the year 2001, Grohl and Blum, both aged 48 at the time, crossed paths and tied the knot in 2003. Together, they are parents to three lovely girls: Violet, Harper, and Ophelia.
Over the years, various people have referred to him as a “family-oriented” individual, and this rockstar has consistently emphasized the significance of his loved ones during interviews.
The pair are parents to Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15 and Ophelia Saint, 10.
In 2001, they had their initial encounter at the Whiskey Bar located within the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood, California. Exactly two years later, they exchanged wedding vows at their residence in Los Angeles on August 2, 2003.

In the 2007 GQ interview, during their initial encounter, Grohl playfully predicted their future separation by stating to Jordyn that she would be his former wife, in a prophetic foreshadowing of events.
In a delightful twist of events at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar, there I was, sharing moments with the captivating Taylor [Hawkins]. Let me tell you, the man had an irresistible charm; it wasn’t unusual for him to receive drinks from admiring ladies. The evening took a turn when a stunning beauty approached Taylor and engaged in conversation.
After finishing a Tenacious D meeting, I found myself in casual attire – Vans sneakers without socks, grubby shorts and a soiled T-shirt, amidst the stunning backdrop of Hollywood. A friend of hers, Jordyn, was called over. Upon seeing her, I exclaimed, “Oh my God! No way!” So I’ve been hanging out, sipping drinks, and being a bit of a goofball instead.
By the end of the evening, I was quite drunk and found myself looking at her, saying, “You’ll be my former spouse one day.” Surprisingly, she handed me her phone number: ‘Here, future ex-wife, Jordyn.’
On several occasions, we crossed paths. However, it dawned on me that this was a turning point, a culmination of some sort. And suddenly, I found myself hesitating. Consequently, I decided to step back.
Grohl told Elle in 2007 that he stopped calling Blum after a few dates.
Three months later, I experienced an epiphany and reached out to her. When she answered my call, she expressed surprise, saying, “I didn’t think I would ever hear from you again.
Although not much is openly disclosed about Blum, it’s been reported that she graced the cover of Teen magazine following her discovery at a supermarket when she was only 12 years old.
Blum was reportedly working as a producer at MTV when she met the frontman.
On various occasions, Blum has teamed up with the Foo Fighters, one such collaboration being their 2002 music video for White Limo, where she was featured.
She also co-directed the Foo Fighter’s 2002 Walking a Line music video.
In an interview with GQ in January 2008, Grohl shared that the song “Statues” from his band’s sixth studio album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, was motivated by himself and his spouse.
In a cemetery, I find nothing more touching than finding the gravestones of a husband and wife positioned next to each other.
The song “Ballad of the Beacons” was also written keeping Jordyn in mind, as Grohl expressed: ‘I was deeply in love with my future wife and wanted to create a heartfelt, romantic prom ballad. Yuck! We would never perform such songs live.’
In August 2018, during his interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Grohl shared that Blum had to be taken to the hospital due to appendicitis.
He said: ‘It’s true. I got a text from her, I don’t really feel so good. Then I walk offstage after it was done and she’s like, “I’m on my way to the hospital to get my appendix out.”‘
‘I ran down there, and got there in time. She’s great.’
In 1997, Dave Grohl ended his three-year marriage with Jennifer Leigh Youngblood due to an admission of infidelity on his part.
