AFL legend Brendan Fevola reveals how he lost 14.5kg in one month with NO exercise

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Brendan Fevola‘s transformation is nothing short of inspiring. His dedication to improving his health and well-being is truly commendable. It’s not every day we see a former AFL great like him take control of his lifestyle and make such significant changes.

AFL great Brendan Fevola has revealed he has lost a whopping 14.5 kilograms in just one month without doing any exercise.

In an interview with Australian Men’s Health, the radio host shared that following the end of his athletic career, he neglected his personal health.

‘I haven’t been to the gym in 13 years,’ Brendan told the publication.

‘After I retired, I just didn’t see the point because I had no reason to keep fit.’

Brendan added that when he stopped training, the calories he was consuming continued to ‘stack up’.

Initially, I could eat a large amount of food without any issues since my physical activities, specifically football, helped burn off the calories. However, once I reduced my exercise routine significantly, the calories from my food began to accumulate excessively.

Over the past year, but especially in the last month, Brendan managed to shed an impressive 30 kg from his weight after deciding it was time for a major lifestyle shift. This transformation was significantly boosted when he adopted the keto diet during this period.

Brendan said that the early hours he works in breakfast radio had caused him to eat more carb heavy foods.

He mentioned that his work schedule during the morning, which leaves him feeling exhausted at inopportune moments, was previously accompanied by a diet high in carbohydrates without enough nutrients to keep him alert.

While I believe that meal choices during breakfast hours are crucial, it’s also important to remember that making good food decisions is key, regardless of the time. You can certainly have healthy meals at any time of the day.

He overhauled his diet with a 30-day challenge from Keto Australia.

The keto diet is a diet that focuses on consuming few carbohydrates and lots of fats, with the goal of causing your body to enter a metabolic state known as ketosis. In this state, your body starts using fat as its primary energy source instead of carbs, which can lead to weight loss.

Brendan discussed his transformation on Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick breakfast show last month.

‘I’m on another diet. I’m two weeks in and feeling amazing. I’ve dropped like nine kilos as I’m doing keto, which is perfect for me,’ he began.

I avoid foods with carbs and sugar as I’m not a big fan of sugary treats, so I don’t consume a lot of chocolate.

Brendan mentioned that he’s been savoring the experience of sampling novel dishes as part of his diet, and he’s already discovered some astonishing – and unforeseen – advantages.

“I’ll be enjoying cauliflower rice and mashed cauliflower with something meaty – it’s salmon, fish, or chicken for me. Essentially, I’m having a low-carb meal, as everything on my plate is the same as usual but without the carbohydrates. The food looks stunningly beautiful!

‘As I stroll down the street today, people often remark, “Is that you, Fev?”, due to my gradual decline in visibility. A year ago, I weighed an impressive 128kg, which is quite substantial. By the end of this journey, I’ll be back at my playing weight for Carlton, roughly the same as before.’

Earlier, it was disclosed that Brendan had believed he might not survive due to the intense struggle to shed 12 kilograms within a span of nine days, which was a requirement of his agreement with weight loss experts from Jenny Craig.

In 2017, he took on the role of a representative for Jenny Craig. After learning that the weight loss company had filed for bankruptcy, he disclosed the tasks he needed to complete to meet his contractual responsibilities.

He mentioned on the radio that although he received a significant amount of money, for the initial six months, he needed to shed a considerable amount of weight.

For the following year, your weight should be maintained within a range of two kilograms. Monthly weigh-ins were required, with self-administration being part of the routine, without any food consumed during the process.
