Rap Megastar Kendrick Lamar Will Headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show
As a long-time follower and admirer of Kendrick Lamar’s music, I can’t help but feel a sense of immense pride and anticipation at the news of his upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. Having grown up with his lyrics painting vivid pictures of Compton life in my own California neighborhood, it feels like a full-circle moment to see him grace the NFL’s biggest stage.
NEW ORLEANS – Kendrick Lamar is set to perform at a major event next year: He’ll be the headlining act for the Super Bowl Half-time Show, sponsored by Apple Music. The Grammy award winner will take center stage in New Orleans.
On Sunday, it was announced that Lamar will headline the Super Bowl halftime show at the Caesars Superdome on February 9th. This Grammy-winning hip-hop legend is excited to bring his genre to the NFL’s championship game, having previously performed alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg during the 2022 event.
In a statement, Lamar expressed that rap music remains the most influential genre so far. He also mentioned that he’s ready to reinforce this fact and prove to the world that they made the right choice with him.
Lamar has achieved tremendous success ever since his debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” in 2012. Since then, he’s garnered 17 Grammy awards and made history by becoming the first non-classical, non-jazz artist to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album “DAMN.
In 2022, the new album from the rapper titled “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” was unveiled. This year, he shared the spotlight on the track “Like That,” featuring Future and Metro Boomin, which held the top position on the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks. Additionally, he achieved another hit single with “Not Like Us.
Roc Nation founder Jay-Z called Lamar a “once-in-a-generation” artist and performer.

In a collaborative role, Roc Nation and award-winning producer Jesse Collins will share duties as co-producers for the upcoming halftime spectacle. The creative vision behind Lamar’s performance will be guided by pgLang.
