As a lifestyle expert with a penchant for inspiring stories, I must say, Melissa Leong‘s journey is nothing short of captivating. Her recent foray into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a testament to her courage and thirst for new experiences.

Melissa Leong displayed her tough battle wounds following her participation in a fight over the weekend.

42-year-old ex-judge of MasterChef Australia, shared images of her bruises on Instagram last Saturday, which were caused during a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice.

Dressed in athletic attire, Melissa wore a serious expression as she raised her arm, exposing some rather uncomfortable-looking purple bruises along her upper arm.

She began her journey here! A big thank you to all who joined her in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu this past week. She’s learning, and every session brings new insights, she expressed.

In a different picture, even though she had sustained some surprising injuries, Melissa displayed a grin while standing alongside two pals following their attempt at mixed martial arts.

Melissa, who’s had a lasting interest in mixed martial arts combat, has just started her new role as host for UFC Week.

Currently, she’s given it a go by joining the action at Absolute MMA St Kilda, a place known for its top-notch Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) instruction within Australia.

As per the information on their website, their Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training program boasts a roster of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) world champions, and their fighters frequently compete at a professional level.

For quite some time, Melissa has hidden her admiration for the UFC. She recently shared that she enjoys surprising others with her choices, and this was evident when she spoke about her transition into MMA sports journalism.

‘I like to surprise people,’ she told the Daily Telegraph earlier this year.

I don’t intentionally mislead people about who I am, but there’s something satisfying about surprising them by revealing aspects of myself they didn’t anticipate.

She mentioned that while her background is in food and food journalism, she currently has the chance to expand her knowledge by understanding people’s lives through experiences such as these.

But she has not completely left her passion for cooking behind her, as she is also hosting a brand new show called Dessert Masters.

Melissa recently described her new role as a ‘dream come true’ when speaking to Daily Mail Australia.

Following her unexpected departure from MasterChef Australia, Melissa maintained only positive feelings towards her fellow contestants during the recent changes in the hosting team.

She firmly declared that not just Andy (Allen), but everyone I’ve collaborated with, receives only my deepest affection and admiration from me.

‘We’re a team, we’re a family, and that’s all you need to know really.’
