As a seasoned gamer and binge-watcher of countless mystery series, I must say that “The Perfect Couple” episode 5 has managed to keep me hooked, much like a virtual quest in my favorite video game that I can’t seem to put down. The plot twists and turns have been as intriguing as navigating through an epic dungeon filled with traps and clues.

In “The Perfect Couple” episode 5 titled “Never Gonna Give You Up,” another interrogation takes place. This one, however, is the one we’ve been eagerly anticipating. While it might seem too straightforward to suggest Tag as Merritt’s killer, I can’t help but feel that way. Yet, this episode serves a crucial purpose – to clear Tag of any suspicion because the Winbury patriarch had ample motive for such a crime. Here lies our review of the fifth installment in the Netflix series, which is almost the final one. BEWARE OF SPOILERS BELOW.

In this household, everything seems to be out in the open, given that all family members appear to have knowledge about Tag and Merritt without any clear explanation for some characters. It’s also common knowledge that Amelia and Benji’s breakup followed his discovery of her kiss with Shooter. It’s no surprise then that Greer has everyone agree to a non-disclosure agreement, given these circumstances… or so it seems.

frankly, it’s a relief to see less of Benji since I haven’t found him appealing as the series progressed. Both Amelia and Shooter acted poorly in their actions, but Amelia made a poor decision by sleeping with Benji when he was intoxicated at his mother’s book launch party. Girl, you should always think before acting. Honestly, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.

The series tries to also make us care about Amelia and Shooter once more as they have a scene together. Literally have no feelings towards this couple. They came out of nowhere and so I’m not invested at all. Like, Merritt and Tag had more chemistry.

The book release turned out to be quite an uncomfortable and chaotic event, especially when Tag, who had been interrogated by the police earlier, arrived drunk. To make matters worse, he presented evidence that placed him in bed at the time of Merritt’s murder. As I watched this unfold, I found myself involuntarily shielding my eyes, struggling to accept such a turn of events. Despite the awkwardness, it was an intriguing and entertaining scene for me as a viewer. I truly appreciated it.

To be frank, Tag. Despite Greer’s attempt to pin the murder on you, consider all the leeway she’s allowed you. What did you anticipate? Given that you’re no longer a suspect and the evidence from the watch indicates Greer wasn’t in bed, attention has shifted towards her as a potential killer. Could she be? Definitely, it’s a possibility worth investigating.

In my opinion, episode 5 of “The Perfect Couple” was more engaging than the fourth one. It seemed like the plot began to progress again, though there were a few instances where we revisited Merritt’s night of murder, which felt slightly redundant. Given that she interacted with every character on that fateful night, it’s understandable why the storyline kept looping back to it. After all, that’s a common element in murder mysteries.
