Ewan McGregor is to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

As a devoted fan who has grown up with Ewan McGregor gracing our screens since the late 90s, I can’t help but feel a sense of pure joy and excitement at the news of his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony! From Obi-Wan Kenobi to young Tom Riddle, Ewan has played some truly unforgettable characters that have left an indelible mark on my heart.

Following the dedication of a star on the Walk of Fame for the late Carl Weathers on August 29, another renowned figure from the Star Wars universe is now being recognized for his significant impact on cinema and TV.

The Walk of Fame has announced that Ewan McGregor will receive a star on September 12. The ceremony will take place at 11:30 AM Pacific Time, and notable attendees include filmmaker Mike Mills and Ewan’s Star Wars co-star Hayden Christensen. This is exciting news for Star Wars enthusiasts as they get to celebrate Ewan’s achievements in Hollywood and witness a touching reunion between him and Hayden Christensen.

Apart from being renowned for his role in Star Wars, Ewan McGregor has also shone brightly in other memorable films like Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge, Black Hawk Down, Big Fish, and The Ghost Writer. He’s been recognized with four Golden Globe Award nominations and won Best Actor in a Limited Series for Fargo. Additionally, he’s earned five Emmy nominations, taking home an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for Halston. His most recent accolade is an Emmy nomination for Best Actor in a Limited Series for his work in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Ewan McGregor has numerous upcoming ventures to anticipate. Yet, he remains optimistic about resurfacing in Star Wars as Obi-Wan Kenobi, confident that the opportunity will arise at some point. He’s voiced his desire to reclaim the role of Kenobi once more, pointing out that he’s now close to the age Alec Guinness was when he played the iconic Jedi Master in “Star Wars: A New Hope.

Christensen will get a chance to pay tribute to his co-star and friend, whom he first met during the filming of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones when he was still a youngster, on September 12. He’s often acknowledged Ewan for making him feel welcome within the Star Wars community. Over the years since the prequels, their friendship and mutual respect have only deepened. The warmth of their bond will be in focus as Christensen delivers a speech for McGregor at his Walk of Fame ceremony. We’re excited to hear Hayden’s humorous anecdotes about the “high ground” and his fond recollections of working alongside Ewan McGregor, both on-screen mentor and off-screen buddy.

The event will be streamed live exclusively on www.walkoffame.com.
