Get ready to revisit Hawkins! A new threat from the Upside Down has emerged, and Netflix just dropped a trailer for Stranger Things: Tales from ’85. This animated series is the first spin-off from the popular show created by the Duffer Brothers.

The latest trailer for the show not only shows the return of the cast of Stranger Things and teases some new creatures, but also introduces a new character named Nikki. With a mohawk and a workshop full of self-made weapons, Nikki might be the key to helping the kids battle the upcoming threat.

What Is Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 About?

Now that the gate to the Upside Down is closed, the kids of Hawkins, Indiana—Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max—are trying to get back to a normal life, free from monsters and danger.

That short period of peace doesn’t last. Something stirs under the snow in Hawkins, and it’s up to Eleven and her friends to deal with it.

In addition to the main cast, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 includes Brett Gipson as Hopper, Jeremy Jordan (known for Supergirl and Hazbin Hotel) as Steve, and Janeane Garofalo and Lou Diamond Phillips in currently undisclosed roles. Eric Robles created and executive produces the series, with the Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt through Upside Down Pictures, Shawn Levy via 21 Laps, and Dan Cohen also serving as executive producers.

Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 Is Just the Beginning

Following a successful theatrical release of the Stranger Things finale, Netflix is bringing another show to cinemas before it starts streaming in April. These screenings will also feature a special collectible item.

The new series Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 is only the beginning of Netflix’s plans for the Stranger Things universe. Another show is also being developed, though details are currently secret. The Duffer Brothers have confirmed this new series won’t continue the story of the original Stranger Things; instead, it will feature a completely new cast of characters within the same world.

The stage play based on the origins of Stranger Things actually had a big impact on the show’s later seasons, making some viewers wish Netflix had streamed it earlier.
