Shudder: Premiere date and roster of judges announced for The Boulet Brothers' Dragula season six

As a seasoned gamer and horror enthusiast with a penchant for all things drag, I can barely contain my excitement for the upcoming premiere of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula Season 666 on Shudder! After binge-watching all previous seasons, the anticipation has been palpable.

Enthusiasts of “The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula” have been eagerly awaiting updates regarding season six of this eerie competition show. Exciting news! Shudder has finally unveiled the release date, as well as some additional details.

The TV show “The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula” has evolved significantly since its debut on YouTube in the initial season. Later, Shudder began airing the series from “Dragula: Resurrection,” a season filmed at the contestants’ homes during the COVID-19 lockdown, and the following year saw the commencement of season four. This current season has brought recognition to “Dragula” and the Boulets with two Emmy nominations for makeup and hairstyling.

Apart from six seasons and “Resurrection”, the Boulet Brothers are additionally behind “Dragula: Titans”, another show that aired on Shudder. The participants in “Titans” had previously competed in different seasons of “Dragula”.

When does season six of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula premiere on Shudder?

Season six commences with an extended premiere episode, lasting approximately ninety minutes. This inaugural episode is set to air on October 1, Tuesday, on both Shudder and AMC+. Subsequently, a fresh hour-long episode will be released every week on Tuesdays.

Season six, also known as “Season 666,” is described as the most ambitious and terrifying one yet. Renowned actors and directors are joining the judges’ panel, elevating the competition to demonic heights. Each episode promises nerve-wracking, extreme physical challenges that will challenge the cast of drag superstars to face their deepest fears.

This season comprises ten episodes, featuring fresh floor show concepts, more daring (and gory) contests, and, as usual, some genuinely awe-inspiring horror-themed drag and makeup presentations.

Dracmorda and Swan vow to surpass conventional horror and drag boundaries yet again, claiming that “the rivalry is fiercer, the tasks are bloodier…and genuine terror awaits.”

The judges for season six are made up of some familiar faces and newcomers to Dragula. Among them are Jennifer Tilly, known for her role in Chucky, Mike Flanagan from The Fall of the House of Usher, David Dastmalchian who starred in Late Night with the Devil, Jamie Clayton of Hellraiser, Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl, both from The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, as well as Violet Chachki, who has appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

In addition, the show has teamed up with horror game developers at Dead by Daylight to offer an exclusive contest. The victor of this contest will earn the privilege of becoming a playable character within the game, represented as skins designed by The Boulets.

If you haven’t come across “The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula” before, it’s essentially a drag contest with a dark twist. Participants engage in competitions inspired by the horror genre, showcasing their skill in makeup and costumes, performances, and even participating in unpleasant, occasionally painful activities. In the past, elimination challenges have encompassed electric shocks, riding a mechanical bull, enduring vacuum-sealed latex, and transferring maggots from one container to another using just your mouth.

You can find all five seasons of “Dragula” on Shudder, as well as “Dragula: Titans” and “Dragula: Resurrection”. Additionally, don’t forget to check out “The Boulet Brothers’ Halfway to Halloween” special, which is available for streaming on Shudder too – it’s a really enjoyable watch!
