Fans are speculating that ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ might be coming back, after Taylor Frankie Paul’s fellow cast members shared mysterious messages on social media.
Production on the fifth season of the popular reality show was suddenly stopped when allegations of domestic violence surfaced involving cast member Paul and her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, creating uncertainty about the show’s future.
The situation went beyond just the Hulu show. Pau, age 31, was also scheduled to appear on the next season of The Bachelorette, but those plans were canceled when old video footage linked to a 2023 incident began circulating online.
ABC decided to cancel the season before it even began, refocusing attention on the future of Sister Wives.
As a huge fan, I’m getting so excited! Mayci Neeley and Layla Taylor, who played such amazing characters, have been posting these really mysterious messages online, and everyone thinks it means they might be filming another season. I’m hoping the rumors are true – it would be incredible to see them back on screen!
Neeley, 31, and Taylor, 25, both reposted an article about their fellow cast member Jessi Draper’s interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Draper, 33, had mentioned she hoped filming for Mormon Wives could start up again, and Neeley and Taylor added their own interesting comments when they shared the article.
Neeley posted the article with the message, ‘We’re ready,’ and a video camera emoji. She also playfully referenced the popular 2023 Barbie movie with the line, ‘It’s time to take back Barbieland,’ starring Margot Robbie.
Taylor, meanwhile, reshared the same article and wrote, ‘Let’s do this girls!!!’
Oh my gosh, she posted! She said she loves our show so much and is so grateful for everything! And she tagged Jeff Jenkins Productions and Hulu – seriously, everyone involved is amazing, and I’m just living for this! It makes me so happy to see her appreciate the team behind the scenes too!
The Daily Mail has reached out to Hulu for comment.
The upcoming season of The Bachelorette was cancelled after video related to a 2023 domestic violence incident involving contestant Paul and his former partner, Mortensen, came to light.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen things go viral before, and this was a classic case! Just days before the big launch, a video popped up online, and let me tell you, it caused a bit of a scramble behind the scenes. We had to act fast!
According to insiders, the show was canceled by network executives even though it was already finished and prepared for broadcast.
I was so shocked when ABC announced they were canceling Paul’s season of The Bachelorette after the video came out. It was supposed to start airing last Sunday, and I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t going to happen.
Following the release of the video, Paul’s spokesperson stated to the Daily Mail that it’s disheartening to witness his ongoing, relentless efforts to damage Taylor’s reputation, showing no consideration for the impact on their child.
Sharing an old video without providing the full story, especially on their son’s birthday, is a deeply inappropriate way to try and shift attention away from their own actions.
Just two days before the video became public, Mortensen reportedly filed a request for a protective order in Utah. This action was based on a new incident that allegedly happened in February 2026, according to the news source.
According to his representative, Viggo Mortensen’s main concern is the well-being of his son, Ever.
According to a statement, Mortensen was aware the allegations of domestic assault might surface, but he intentionally didn’t reveal them himself, as he hoped to maintain a positive relationship with Taylor.
‘It’s been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent well.’
The documents state the argument happened at Paul’s house while their two-year-old son, Ever, was there.
According to Mortensen, a disagreement with Paul turned violent, and Paul reportedly choked him during the altercation.
He says she grabbed his neck, so he had to pull her hands away. Then, she pushed him into a window and hit him.
According to TMZ, Mortensen described the scene as ‘chaotic’ and ‘frightening,’ explaining that their son was woken up by the noise, which included Paul screaming and yelling.
The petition also mentioned Paul’s earlier arrest in 2023, when he claimed Mortensen threw chairs at him during an assault.
In his court documents, he’s asked for temporary custody of Ever and requested that Paul not be allowed to drink alcohol or use drugs while Ever is in his care.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Paul and Mortensen’s representatives for further comment.
This recent event has also stopped production on the newest season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, a show starring both Paul and Mortensen.
On March 16th, the Draper City Police Department told People magazine that Paul and Mortensen are being investigated in a case involving domestic assault.
A department spokesperson said that both sides have accused each other of wrongdoing. They also confirmed that officials reached out to those involved on February 24th and 25th.
Paul discussed her upcoming season of The Bachelorette with People magazine on March 17, describing the experience as emotionally challenging.
It’s really painful for me to see and go through this, especially right now. The timing is just difficult, and it’s a significant situation. I’ve never truly enjoyed a premiere, and this one is no different—it’s incredibly hard, and it took a lot of effort for me to be here today.
It’s a really difficult period, and it’s disappointing, but I’m definitely having a tough time. However, I also felt like backing out would mean missing out on great opportunities and not appreciating all the hard work we’ve put in, especially with something really exciting on the horizon. Ultimately, I felt it was the right decision to push through and show up, even though it’s been challenging.
She shared with EW that she and Mortensen aren’t speaking directly right now. They’re communicating about their son through a third party instead.
Shortly after Amber Heard’s comments, Viggo Mortensen’s spokesperson responded, stating his main concern is the well-being of their son, Ever. They also denied any involvement in the leak of the investigation details.
The representative explained that while he suspected this information might surface eventually, he wouldn’t be the one to reveal it, as his client has always hoped to maintain a good relationship with Taylor.
Despite the difficulties, Mortensen is committed to co-parenting effectively. His representative shares that he had hoped the issue would resolve itself without further intervention.
The representative explained that he was hoping the issue would resolve itself if he remained silent, which is his typical approach. He’s never publicly shared his perspective in a formal interview.
He tends to be passive and doesn’t take charge of situations. Now that things are serious, he understands he needs to start actively participating instead of just letting things happen.
Paul and Mortensen have had an on-again, off-again relationship for the last few years.
In season four of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Paul briefly dated a man. Later, while in Los Angeles, he and Mortensen had a sexual encounter, and another one occurred shortly before Mortensen left to film The Bachelorette.
Paul told Us Weekly that their relationship felt like a repeating pattern, and he admitted it’s been difficult to break free from it.
She was asked about how she helped the contestants on The Bachelorette feel confident that she was over her previous relationship.
‘I made the decision to leave for two months and try. I reassured them that was why I was here,’ she said.
The publication also asked Paul if viewers might question if she was still ‘hung up on Dakota.’
It’s understandable to feel that way. My experiences with Dakota helped me prepare for new things. I’ve made some questionable choices, but I’ve always been honest and open about them, even when I had to revisit those decisions. Over time, I’ve also learned to be comfortable with people not understanding me, and that’s okay.
Filming for Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been temporarily stopped while the investigation involving Paul and Mortensen is ongoing.
The ongoing investigation has also impacted The Bachelorette’s brand partnerships.
Despite previously advertising new products related to the show, Cinnabon announced on March 17th that it was ending its partnership with both Paul and the ABC series.
Cinnabon announced it is ending its partnerships with the TV shows The Bachelorette and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, according to a company statement.
As a long-time supporter of this brand, I was disappointed to hear about the recent issues with one of the lead actors. After careful consideration, the company decided it just wasn’t a good fit to continue working with them, as their actions didn’t reflect what we stand for. It was a tough call, but I believe it was the right one to protect the brand’s image and values.
