According to The Sun, it is expected that the 59-year-old actress who portrayed the character Sally St. Claire will bid farewell to the show during its upcoming emotional scene or stunt, possibly next week.

But despite her sad departure, the door is reportedly not closed in definitely.

According to the source, Annie has enjoyed her tenure on Hollyoaks, but it appears that Sally’s role as a permanent character is coming to a close.

‘She will bow out in heroic scenes during the dramatic stunt with the scenes being kept top secret.

‘Her departure from the village isn’t definitive, as there’s still a possibility of her coming back at some point. However, when the series advances by a year, Sally is no longer present in the village.’

And Annie is not the only star to announce their exit this week. 

Sophie Porley, aged 31, portrayed Ellie Nightingale on Channel 4’s soap opera, yet she has decided to step away from acting as she felt a significant weight of pressure in searching for a new role following her departure from the series.

In 2018, she parted ways with the show following three years of involvement, though a distressing event occurred afterward during another audition. Now, she thrives as a prominent social media personality.

In an interview with The Muse podcast, the individual who is now a social media influencer shared that they didn’t plan to delve into social media when they left Hollyoaks. Instead, their initial goal was to carry on acting.

‘I don’t know if I’ve really spoken about this, but I’m not really acting anymore.

After wrapping up my stint at Hollyoaks, I found myself with several auditions lined up. The expectation of transitioning swiftly from one acting role to another created a significant amount of self-imposed stress and pressure.

‘I received an audition from my agency with a lot of lines to memorize. Overwhelmed by the task, I went to the agency to record it but ended up feeling so tense that I left their office mid-recording, experiencing a panic attack.’

‘I was in the train station and I literally had to sit on the floor. I couldn’t breathe.

At that point, I realized I was overburdening myself with the expectation of securing another acting role, so I decided to take a break.

‘It’s been a few years now, and I’ve not gone back to it,’ she added.

Occasionally, I ponder if I ought to give it another go, yet I must admit that the entire experience left me feeling quite overpowered.

She mentioned that while it’s not a definite yes, she currently has no intentions of going back to Hollyoaks.

‘It’s not something on my radar.’

In the year 2022, Sophie disclosed that she had parted ways with her soap actor boyfriend, Adam Woodward, earlier in the same year.

Sophie implied to her audience that the strain caused by the coronavirus lockdown might have contributed to their breakup, stating, “We parted ways, just like many other couples.”
