Jordan Brooks shared on Instagram that he’s currently unable to walk and is using a wheelchair. He posted a photo with his pregnant girlfriend, Sophie Kasaei, on Thursday.
The 31-year-old reality TV star recently shared that he has viral meningitis, which causes inflammation around the brain and spinal cord. This is distinct from the bacterial meningitis outbreak happening in Kent.
Jordan has been hospitalized for the past two weeks and recently received a diagnosis of encephalitis, a rare and dangerous inflammation of the brain that could be life-threatening.
Jordan recently shared that he’s unable to walk because his body is extremely weak. He says he still has a significant journey ahead of him as he recovers.
He wrote a heartfelt message, praying for strength and asking to be reunited with his son. He cherished a brief moment of fresh air away from the hospital ward with the person who means everything to him.
‘Still not got the strength to walk and am super weak all over my entire body.
Thanks so much for your support, Sophie Kasaei! We’ve still got a ways to go, but we’re making progress.
Jordan and his girlfriend, Sophie, are expecting a baby boy. Sophie recently shared that she is seven months pregnant.
Sophie shared a difficult health update about her boyfriend, Jordan, on Wednesday, describing the past month as the ‘worst of our lives’.
Sophie shared that it was a frightening time for her family, as Jordan experienced seizures caused by the side effects of meningitis and encephalitis.
I stopped by home to rest after spending the whole day at the hospital with my sweet boy. It’s still a frightening experience, but Jord continues to show incredible strength, and we’re determined not to let this illness get him down.
‘Our baby keeps him going more than ever. He keeps us all going.’
He has both viral meningitis and encephalitis. It’s important to note this isn’t the bacterial meningitis currently in the news; this is a viral form. Right now, we’re focusing on the encephalitis and its effects.
Seeing a loved one suffer from viral encephalitis or meningitis is a truly frightening experience.
It’s frightening to see someone having a seizure, but he’s getting excellent care. We’re all supporting him through this, and thankfully, my family is taking good care of me as well.
She continued: ‘Worst month of our lives I never wish this on anyone.
Now that I’m in my third trimester, I’m eagerly awaiting the day my baby comes home, and we can spend these final weeks getting ready together.
Right now, this is all I can focus on. Life’s full of surprises, and going through tough times really helps you appreciate the good things.
‘Thank you for all your messages we will get there’.
Sophie shared a cute photo of her baby bump and announced she’s 28 weeks pregnant.
This news follows Sophie’s recent comments about how quickly life can change, as her boyfriend Jordan is currently hospitalized and fighting viral meningitis and encephalitis.
The TV star, who just recently arrived in Jordan on Friday, has described her experience as a ‘living nightmare’ while her partner is hospitalized.
The expectant mother, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child, shared photos of happier moments together and revealed she’s going through the most difficult experience of her life.
She wrote: ‘Life can come at you really fast. Literally in the blink of an eye.
One moment you’re imagining a life with someone, and the next, you’re in a hospital, desperately hoping for the best.
Seeing the person I love suffer is incredibly painful, especially when I feel helpless to fix it. Even amidst all this hardship, knowing we have a future together gives me hope and reminds me that life continues, even in the toughest times.
I didn’t expect to feel so much fear and love at the same time. Life can change incredibly quickly. It’s a reminder not to take anything or anyone for granted.
I fall more in love with you every day, Jordan. This whole situation feels like a bad dream, and I just want to wake up with you by my side. I’m so thankful you’re here and fighting for us.
‘Our little baby boy is what is keeping this family going. I love you @jordanbrook11’.
Jordan posted a video from the hospital on Saturday, updating fans on his condition. He said the swelling in his brain is increasing, but he remains hopeful, stating they aren’t completely out of danger, though they are making progress.
In the video, he explained that this was the first time he felt able to clearly discuss what was happening with his health. He acknowledged there had been a lot of guessing about his situation, but he wanted to share the diagnosis he received the previous day.
I recently found out I have both viral meningitis and encephalitis. These viruses are affecting my brain and the surrounding tissues, causing inflammation. It’s a serious condition, and it’s definitely not minor.
I’ve undergone a lot of tests, including CT scans, MRIs, and a lumbar puncture. Since being admitted to the hospital, I’ve received continuous care. I’m currently receiving fluids through an IV, along with antiviral medication, pain relief, physical therapy, and monitoring for potential seizures, as there’s a slight risk of them happening right now.
I’m really struggling because the swelling in my brain is increasing. Even everyday tasks are becoming difficult.
He advised his supporters and loved ones to disregard any conspiracy theories circulating about his health, urging them to be mindful of what they read online.
This is a serious medical situation, not just people being critical. I’m dealing with significant swelling on my brain, and doctors are giving me strong medication, including steroids, to try and reduce it.
‘I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be.’
He shifted his focus to his pregnant girlfriend, Sophie, and continued, ‘Right now, my priority is getting healthy.’
Honestly, watching Soph is just… incredible. She’s carrying my little guy, and it’s the most amazing thing ever. All I want is to be a good, healthy dad – to be there for them both, to be home with my family, and just soak up every moment with my son. That’s seriously all I dream about.
‘This won’t beat me. I will get out of this.’
He expressed his gratitude to those thinking of him, and asked everyone to be kind and supportive, not only to Soph, but to anyone facing similar challenges.
Jordan recently revealed his diagnosis in a video, explaining he’s been dealing with both viral meningitis and encephalitis. He said he’s finally felt able to talk about it publicly.
This is serious. We’re looking at tests, treatment, and a lengthy recovery process. Please be cautious about what you hear – not all information circulating is accurate.
I’m currently focused on recovering my health and returning home to my family. I’m incredibly thankful for the care I’m receiving from the doctors, as well as the love and support from my family and everyone else.
‘Life can throw curveballs when you least expect it. I will not beat – JB ❤️.’
Jordan recently posted a black and white photo on Instagram showing him relaxing in bed.
He also wrote, ‘Just another day in paradise. Hoping things improve or for a little bit of luck.’
He didn’t go into any further detail about his condition at the time.
Sophie announced on Friday that she’s finally able to visit Jordan in the hospital, now that doctors have confirmed he’s no longer contagious.
It’s been really tough, but I’m finally able to see my son, Jords, because he’s no longer contagious. I’m so impressed by his strength, and we’re facing this as a family. Thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers – we’re hoping for a better day.
