Longlegs and American Horror Story fans should keep an eye out for Grotesquerie

The Grotesquerie trailer is a horror drama movie. It was set in the town of St. Augustine and it was associated with the show’s quality. It was set in the context of a religious theme, but not a religious event or anything like that, because it didn’t have any connection to American Horror Story. The trailer itself is connected to the new series.

Recently, FX unveiled the full-length trailer for the upcoming horror drama series, “Grotesquerie,” which was created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken. Upon watching it, I found a striking similarity between this show and one of this year’s most terrifying horror films, “Longlegs.”

The show “Grotesquerie” unfolds in a troubled town where an unidentified murderer is perpetrating heinous acts, such as slaying an entire family. Detective Lois Tyron (played by Niecy Nash) spearheads the search for this killer, which takes her deep into the town’s dark secrets, revealing a cult and numerous other unsettling elements. Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), a local nun and investigative journalist, lends her assistance to Detective Tyron in this chilling pursuit

Grotesquerie and Longlegs appear to share many similarities at first glance:

  • Serial killer with potential satanic connections
  • Presence of a nun/religious themes (although in Longlegs the “nun” in question was pretending)
  • A potential supernatural twist
  • A grimy air of real evil and darkness, creepy crime scene photos, and super disturbing murder scenes

Not at all implying any form of plagiarism here, but rather pointing out an interesting connection: the upcoming series and movie seem to go hand in hand, making it exciting for those who loved Longlegs, as it provides a fresh addition to explore come September!

Grotesquerie isn’t connected to American Horror Story, but more AHS is on the way

It’s impossible to discuss prolific producer Ryan Murphy without bringing up his extended horror anthology series, “American Horror Story”. This show was recently renewed for seasons 12 and 13, with season 12, titled “Delicate”, having premiered the previous year

As a devoted fan, I must admit that upon watching the tantalizing trailer for Grotesquerie, I couldn’t help but wonder if this new series would share any ties with the captivating world of American Horror Story. However, at this point, there seems to be no hint or indication of such a connection. Interestingly enough, the two shows don’t even boast a single shared actor in their respective casts

This year, you won’t find any fresh episodes of “American Horror Story” or its spinoff series, “American Horror Stories.” However, it has been confirmed that “American Horror Story” will return for its 13th season. Given the decline in quality the show has experienced lately, it’s quite possible that season 13 might be its final one

To date, there’s been no announcement regarding the specifics of the upcoming season of “American Horror Story“, yet it appears quite probable that it will be aired close to Halloween in the year 2025
