NASCAR: Full qualifying order revealed for Atlanta playoff race
As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours racing virtual NASCARs, I can’t help but feel a surge of adrenaline at the sight of the Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart’s qualifying order. The thrill of the race, the strategy, and the unpredictability – it’s all there, just waiting to be experienced.
The 10-race, 4-stage NASCAR Cup Series playoffs for 2024 are set to kick off this coming Sunday afternoon, starting with the Quaker State 400 sponsored by Walmart at the Atlanta Motor Speedway
This 1.54-cornerve, 1.54-mile, or equal to 2.6.57-kilometer, located inHampton, Georgia, is among seven tracks included in the playoff schedule that which also held a race during the regular season, which took place around late February
As a result of the track resurfacing that occurred following the two races held at Atlanta in 2021, the track has been reclassified as a superspeedway. Despite being noticeably smaller compared to both Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway, this is now its official designation
Consequently, no teams will compete in the qualifying round for the upcoming 260-lap race on Saturday. Instead, they’ll line up based on the qualifying criteria, as detailed further here, during Sunday afternoon’s event
In the playoffs, a key distinction is made compared to the regular season: when determining positions, playoff and non-playoff drivers are treated separately. This means that non-playoff drivers will always be ranked ahead of playoff drivers during qualification
As a speedy racer, I’ve made it through the initial lap, and now the top 10 fastest drivers are eligible for the second-round showdown to grab the coveted pole position. The order of these 10 in the second round will decide where we all line up on the first five rows for the next race, making those starting spots highly sought after!

The Quaker State 400, sponsored by Walmart, will be live-streamed on USA Network from the Atlanta Motor Speedway starting at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time this coming Sunday, September 8. Last year’s winner was William Byron from Hendrick Motorsports, but that race wasn’t part of the playoffs. In February, Daniel Suarez from Trackhouse Racing Team emerged victorious at Atlanta.
