Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa’s new comedy confirms UK cinema release

As a die-hard fan of both Doctor Who and Oscar Wilde, I must say that Ncuti Gatwa’s new stage revival of The Importance of Being Earnest is nothing short of a dream come true! This man has been on a roll this year, from his incredible performance as the Fifteenth Doctor to getting his own waxwork model at Madame Tussauds. I can only imagine how thrilling it must be for him to step into the world of Jack and Algy, two characters as iconic as the Doctor himself!

Next year, a cinema release for the UK will be given to the stage revival of “The Importance of Being Earnest,” starring Ncuti Gatwa from “Doctor Who.”

As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but share an exciting piece of news that’s got me just as thrilled! The man behind the time-traveling TARDIS, Jodie Whittaker’s co-star in Doctor Who, is making his way to the National Theatre stage. He’ll be starring in a two-month run of the timeless classic by Oscar Wilde, starting from November 20th! Can’t wait to see this epic performance!

Starting on February 20, 2025, it’s officially announced that the theater production will be released in movie theaters as part of the National Theatre Live program

In July, the actor received a wax figure representation at Madame Tussauds, and they shared the star’s response to seeing his likeness on their social media platforms

In the month of June, the actor secured a part in the film “The Roses”, a remake of “The War of the Roses”. This upcoming production features notable stars such as Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch alongside him

According to Warren Adler’s novel, the narrative unfolds around the duo, Ivy (portrayed by Colman) and Theo (played by Cumberbatch). Their seemingly harmonious union conceals undercurrents of competition and bitterness, eventually culminating in their divorce

The series titled “The Roses” will feature an impressive cast including Kate McKinnon from Barbie, Andy Samberg known for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Sunita Mani hailing from GLOW, Zoë Chao who starred in Love Life, Jamie Demetriou from Stath Lets Flats, and Belinda Bromilow of The Great. In simpler terms, these talented individuals will be seen on “The Roses”

The Importance of Being Earnest will be released in cinemas on February 20. The play runs at the National Theatre between November 20 and January 25.

In the United Kingdom, you can watch “Doctor Who” on BBC One, while viewers from other regions can find it on Disney+. For those in the UK, classic episodes of “Doctor Who” are accessible through BBC iPlayer
