Red Dead Redemption 2 Free DLC Leaves Gamers Pleasantly Surprised

Released in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely considered a masterpiece, but it hasn’t received much new content since. Rockstar Games quickly shifted its focus to Grand Theft Auto VI. While Red Dead Redemption 2 includes an online mode called Red Dead Online, it hasn’t been updated as frequently or received the same level of support as Grand Theft Auto Online, which has left many players disappointed.

As a big fan, it’s always exciting when Rockstar gives some love to Red Dead Online! They sometimes release new stuff or bring back old favorites, and this month is one of those times. They’ve added a bunch of free items to the Red Dead Redemption 2 online world, which is awesome!

Red Dead Redemption 2’s Online Mode Drops New Content

Okay, so Rockstar’s really boosting rewards for Moonshiners in Red Dead Online this month and into April! They’re giving us triple the cash and XP for making moonshine sales. It’s awesome because they’re also adding some cool outfits inspired by the community. If I manage to complete just one sale, I’ll snag a green Torbay Vest, and if I grind all the way to Rank 20, I’ll unlock a brown Ortega Vest. Plus, if I help clear out those pesky Revenue Agent blockades by destroying them, I can get a sweet white Cossack Hat. Definitely a good time to get back into the Moonshiner business!

Plus, you can earn weekly rewards by sharing your unique Western-inspired style. Here’s what’s up for grabs:

  • March 3 – 9: Complete “Blood Is Thicker Than ‘Shine” Moonshine Story Mission to receive the tan Porter Jacket
  • March 10 – 16: Complete three Daily Challenges to receive the black Salter Shoes
  • March 17 – 23: Moonshiners can log in to receive the green Churchwell Vest
  • March 24 – 30: Rank up five times as a Moonshiner or Reach Moonshiner Rank 20 to receive the Slow Clap Emote

Red Dead Redemption 2 Have Been Begging For New Content

Many players feel that Red Dead Online has been neglected by Rockstar Games, despite a recent update that was well-received. While the Moonshiner event was a pleasant surprise, fans are still asking for more substantial content. One Twitter user pointed out, “It’s been almost eight years – can we please get a 60fps update for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 5? I love your games, but this has been a long wait.” Another user simply stated, “Still no major updates for Red Dead Redemption 2, and no news about GTA 6.”

As Rockstar nears the November release of Grand Theft Auto VI, fans are hoping they’ll return to the Red Dead series, and especially focus on improving Red Dead Online.
