As a die-hard Yakuza fan with countless hours logged in the seedy underworld of Kamurocho and beyond, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming RGG Summit! With my fingers crossed and heart pounding, I’m eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Like a Dragon series.
As the Tokyo Game Show approaches (specifically, from 26th to 29th September), Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the creators of Like a Dragon/Yakuza, along with SEGA, have made it known that they will be organizing the upcoming RGG Summit prior to this major event.
It’s likely that the exhibit will give us a glimpse into the future of the Yakuza series, post the January launch of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The nature of this next installment could be a major sequel, spin-off, or something unexpected. As for now, we’re unsure about its specifics. However, it’s been confirmed that TGS 2024 is where the next title in the Like a Dragon series will be unveiled.
At 11pm BST/12pm CEST/6am ET on Friday, 20th September, the RGG Summit is set to take place. You can catch it live on YouTube or SEGA’s Twitch channel. Could we possibly learn more about ‘Yakuza Wars’? Fingers crossed! Whatever is revealed, it seems we’ll be in for a surprise.
