In a recent announcement, Developer Strikerz Inc. revealed their new, highly anticipated football game, set for release in the coming months: UFL: Ultimate Football League. Unfortunately, the game, which was originally slated to be a competitor to EA Sports FC and eFootball, has been postponed by three months.
Initially, it was planned that the football match would be held in September. However, after gathering valuable input from players and reviewing extensive game data, we’ve chosen to move the event to December instead. This information was communicated through multiple channels, such as a follow-up beta test, open beta, and ‘Common Test’ posts. In a blog post, Strikerz explained that the delay in release date was based on feedback received and additional data gathered.
“We want to share our reasons behind our choice and its implications for you. Although we can launch the game on time, we think spending a bit extra time will help us deliver an outstanding gaming experience.”
“Most problems we’re encountering are focused on refining and enhancing the aspects that create the game’s overall atmosphere. While there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for creating the ideal football game, it’s crucial for us to deliver a game that not only meets our high quality standards, but also exceeds your expectations.”
In a free-to-play format, UFL operates as a service-based game, with Strikerz committing to deliver frequent and impactful updates. Currently, they’re focusing on expanding the game by incorporating new modes, aiming to enhance both the overall gaming experience and its stability. The studio has reported that over 2 million players took part in the beta testing.
On the fifth of December, both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles will become available for pre-purchase, providing early access starting from November 28th. (UFL: Ultimate Football League will be joining in.)
