As an ardent fan, I find Matilda Brown’s journey to be truly inspiring! Born into the world of acting, yet grappling with personal struggles like many others, she bravely fought her way through years of eating disorders and fad diets. But then came Scott Gooding, a beacon of light who helped her rediscover the joy in food and nourishment.

Actress Matilda Brown recently disclosed that encountering her spouse helped her overcome several challenging years battling eating disorders.

In simpler terms, Matilda – the offspring of well-known Australian acting pair Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward – opened up about her longstanding battle with food and trendy diets, which has been a challenge for her since her teenage years.

40-year-old actress from “The Death and Life of Otto Bloom” shared that getting to know her spouse, Scott Gooding known from “My Kitchen Rules”, aided in changing her perspective on food from viewing it as an adversary.

During my twenties, I struggled with various eating disorders. It wasn’t until I crossed paths with Scott, a knowledgeable nutritionist and wellness enthusiast, that I began to understand the importance of proper nutrition and the specific needs of my body.

In a comprehensive chat, Matilda shared that she rediscovered her affection for food, as it had been an adversary for such a prolonged period of time before.

Chef and nutritionist Scott appeared on the 2013 season of My Kitchen Rules with kitchen partner Luke Hines and has now teamed up with Matilda to release a new cookbook.

I can hardly contain my excitement! This very month, Matilda’s latest culinary masterpiece, “The Good Farm Cookbook,” will grace our bookshelves. What a thrill it is to learn that her mother, Rachel, too, played a significant role in its creation and served as an inspiration for this extraordinary work. I simply can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!

She told how Rachel impressively turned the family’s farm in Nambucca Heads on the New South Wales mid-north coast into a fully-fledged regenerative cattle farm.

In the year 2019, Matilda tied the knot with Scott in an elegant vintage-styled wedding held on Cockatoo Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled within Sydney Harbour.

In May 2019, the pair had their initial shared offspring, Zan (now 5 years old). Later on, in the year 2021, their second child, Anouk, was born, who is currently 3 years of age.

Scott also has a son Tashi, 15, from a previous relationship.

Matilda openly shares her experiences as a mother, posting updates about her family life on social media platforms.

In a 2019 post, she penned: “I can hardly recall what life was like before Zan. And I have no desire to revisit those times.”

That same year, she also spoke about her father Bryan’s involvement in her son’s birth.

On the evening when I started laboring, it was planned for Dad to drive Mum to the hospital (Mum served as my doula), then he was expected to stay in the waiting room. This is what she remembered afterwards.

‘But he ended up coming into the room and stayed for the entire birth. When I was pushing Zan out at the end dad was stroking my head and mum was cheering me on, crying, saying ”Come on Til, he’s so close”.’
