As a lifestyle expert with a wealth of experience, I must say that Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes is a prime example of how to embrace family and fun, no matter the weather or circumstances. His Father’s Day beach outing with his loved ones, despite the chilly Melbourne temperatures, showcases his zest for life and his unwavering commitment to spending quality time with his family.

Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes braved the cold on Sunday as he took his family to the beach on Father’s Day.

Despite the cold weather in Melbourne, the comedian (aged 53) didn’t hesitate to put on a pair of shorts for a swim with his wife Holly, as well as their children Rafferty (15), Sadie (13), and Tess (11).

The windy weather was no deterrent for the Hughes brood, who were happy to spend some quality family time together in the water.

Hughesy looked relaxed as he went for a swim in dark blue and white patterned board shorts.

Upon exiting the water, I wrapped a vibrant, Dachshund-adorned blue towel around my waist as a cozy layer, adding a playful touch to my outfit.

Dave continued to display his unique sense of fashion by wearing trendy beige Crocs embellished with various charms.

He finished his Father’s day ensemble with a Carlton AFL baseball-style cap.

Instead of the leopard print swimsuit, Holly chose one with a leopard pattern, then slipped into a Wrangler T-shirt with graphics following their swim.

Dave seemed delighted to be with his relatives, exchanging laughter as they strolled towards their vehicle following their day at the beach.

The family outing comes after he exploded in an on-air rant following an apparent Logies snub.

Last month, the comedian made an appearance on “Fifi, Fev & Nick” from Fox Network. During his visit, he referred to the celebrities who attended this year’s event as a group of individuals who didn’t win or succeed in their endeavors, using the term ‘losers’.

Later on, Hughesy passionately expressed his disappointment over not being invited, pointing out that he had previously hosted the event on four occasions but was this time left out.

In 2007, I had the privilege of co-hosting the Logie Awards alongside Fifi Box, and since 2016, I have been honored to deliver the opening monologue for the Logies up until 2019.

He mentioned that he had always found the Logies enjoyable in previous years… however, on Sunday evening, he wasn’t invited. Consequently, he spent the evening at home instead.

The comedian then began yelling about not getting an invite.

“Four times straight, I was the host without a single invitation. Not a hint of an invitation! Absolutely no invitation at all! There sure were quite a few individuals in that gathering who seemed to have lost their manners.” (This version maintains the comedic tone and conveys the same message.)

‘I presented for twenty years in a row and didn’t even get an invite!’

Host Brendan Fevola then tried to reason with Dave.

‘You’ve got no shows on TV though, why would you get invited?’

However, Hughesy countered by stating that although he doesn’t host a program, his presence can be found everywhere on television.

2021 turned out to be a rollercoaster ride for Dave, as the abrupt conclusion of his popular morning radio show Hughesy, Ed & Erin on 2DayFM took place recently due to dwindling ratings and unresolved obligations.

Due to the fact that some members of our family reside in various cities, we find it challenging to make a commitment for 2025, but we’ve truly enjoyed our time on the 2DayFM Breakfast show together.

With sadness, we step back to allow 2DayFM to find their new breakfast team, as expressed by Hughsey, Ed, and Erin in a statement.

1. “We’re incredibly thankful for Sydney’s backing, and it’s a source of immense pride that our audience has doubled over the past three years. Each listener will be deeply missed.”
