Taylor Swift’s friend Gracie Abrams announces Australian leg for her The Secret of Us tour

American pop artist Gracie Abrams will travel to Australia next year, performing a string of concerts at stadiums in May.
This 24-year-old artist beloved by the indie scene, known for her close friendship with Taylor Swift, has scheduled performances in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
Titled after her recent successful album, the ‘The Secret of Us‘ Tour schedule features a performance in Auckland, New Zealand on April 29, prior to the Australian shows.
On Sunday, Gracie shared her thrilling news on Instagram by posting her Australia tour dates with the caption: “I’m on the verge of tears.”
She also added that pre-sale tickets will go on sale on September 6.
As a devoted follower, I’m thrilled to share that the exciting Australian performances are set to commence! On May 2, I’ll be in Sydney, where the action unfolds at Qudos Arena. Then, on May 6, it’s off to Brisbane and the Entertainment Centre for another unforgettable event. Can’t wait!
After performing their popular hit “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” they are scheduled to perform at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on May 9th.
After receiving a Grammy nomination, the artist will conclude their tour by performing at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on May 13 and at Perth’s RAC Arena on May 16.
Gracie decided to add Perth to her tour itinerary, following the omission of the Western Australian capital by Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney on their latest tour schedules.
Adelaide has been left out in the past on tours by artists like Taylor Swift, a former member of the Beatles, as well as recent performances by Crowded House, Coldplay, and Pearl Jam. The city’s capital has experienced some disappointments in securing these popular acts for their shows.
In the meantime, Gracie is set to arrive in Australia following the successful debut of her Secret of Us album on Australian charts back in June.
The second long-play album by Grace, a 13-track pop collection, reached the top spot upon her initial visit to Australia in January, marking her debut.
She ended up playing a series of sell out shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Grace, well recognized as the child of filmmaker J.J. Abrams, has recently gained fame due to her father’s contributions to the Star Wars and Star Trek movie franchises.
She previously revealed her dad likely influenced her to pursue a creative career.
Gracie shared with V Magazine, saying, “It was bound to happen,” referring to the fact that music is her deepest passion which she requires for maintaining sanity.
‘But it’s not like I was telling everyone I wanted to be a pop star when I grew up,’ she added.
‘I’ve always been a really shy person with bad anxiety, and I definitely never wanted to sing in front of anyone.’
Instead, she bravely left Barnard College following her first year, devoting herself fully to her musical pursuits, overcoming her initial apprehensions.
She released her first single Mean It in October 2019 after she signed with Interscope Records.
In July 2020, the bedroom pop artist introduced her initial EP titled “Minor,” showcasing songs such as “I Miss You,” “I’m Sorry,” and “Friend.”
She dropped her debut studio album Good Riddance last year.
In a chat with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 in January 2021, Olivia Rodrigo shared that her smash hit “Drivers License” was influenced by small events. Moreover, she expressed being a huge admirer of Gracie.
Gracie’s mom, Katie McGrath, is a public relations executive. She tied the knot with Abrams back in 1998. In addition to Gracie, she has two other brothers named Henry and August.
Last month, it was reported that actor Paul Mescal, who played Gladiator II, and popular singer have been romantically connected. They were spotted showing affection in public on a street in London.
