As a dedicated follower of Hollywood and its glamorous events, I must say witnessing Richard Gere’s sweet family celebration at the Venice Film Festival was an absolute delight! The way he celebrated his 75th birthday with his loving wife Alejandra Silva and their two adorable sons, Alexander and James, was heartwarming.
On Saturday, Richard Gere transformed the renowned Venice Film Festival into a delightful family affair, celebrating his 75th birthday with his spouse, Alejandra Silva, and their son, Homer. The following day, they attended the festival together.
The Hollywood legend celebrated in style at the swanky Harry’s Bar in Venice with Alejandra, 41.
The pair gleamed their most contented grins while strolling together, arm in arm, following a delightful evening shared over dinner.
In a stylish navy suit, the well-known figure from “Pretty Woman” showcased her class, while the Spanish publicist radiated sophistication in an intricately embroidered cream maxi dress paired with open-heeled shoes.
In the year 2018, the well-known figure from the movies tied the knot with Alejandra, following a two-year relationship. Subsequently, they became parents to two boys, Alexander who is currently five, and James, aged four.
The following day, Richard and his son Homer James Jigme, aged 24, sailed to the 81st Venice Film Festival on a boat, both of them exuding elegance.
The duo cheered and waved to the onlooking crowd and guests as they landed on a luxurious boat.
The dad and his son attended the Cartier Masterclass: The Art and Technique of Film, and they flashed bright smiles as they stood for a photo.
Putting on a joyful display, they embraced one another as the Unfaithful star sported a navy suit.
I, too, decided to go for a relaxed style, donning a denim shirt paired with some green pants. To finish off the laid-back vibe, I added a baseball cap as an accessory.
Richard opted to bestow the name ‘Homer’, a tribute to both his grandfathers, upon his former spouse and model, Carey Lowell. Additionally, he chose the Tibetan name “Jigme” for the same child.
Richard and Carey married in 2002 but later separated in 2013 after 11 years of marriage.
Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opened the Venice Film Festival on August 28.
In the meantime, Sigourney Weaver is set to be honored with the esteemed Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement award at the upcoming festival.
Before collecting the award, Sigourney expressed her gratitude by saying, “I feel deeply humbled to be bestowed with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement by La Biennale di Venezia.”
Receiving this honor is not just mine alone, but something we’ve achieved together with the talented filmmakers and collaborators I’ve worked with over the years. I gratefully accept this award as a tribute to everyone who has played a part in bringing our films to fruition.
As a devoted film enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating my participation in the 81st Venice International Film Festival, which will be orchestrated by La Biennale di Venezia and unfold on the enchanting Lido di Venezia from the 28th of August to the 7th of September, 2024.
On September 4, another highly anticipated release comes with “Joker: Folie à Deux” premiering. Stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga are set to walk the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival.
At the upcoming festival, Daniel Craig is also expected to make an appearance to publicize his film titled “Queer,” which has a screening scheduled for September 3.
In town currently are frequent visitors Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton, as they participate in Pedro Almodóvar’s first film in English, titled “The Room Next Door”. Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman will be showcasing her erotic thriller, “Babygirl”, on August 30th.
Pupi Avati’s The American Backyard will close the festival on September 7.
