Sophie Turner’s ITV suspenseful series titled “Joan” has revealed an intense sneak peek, set to air during the fall season.
In this six-episode series, the renowned actor from “Game of Thrones” assumes the role of Joan Hannington, a true-life jewel thief. The story features an abundance of ’80s style clothing and hairstyles to complete the transformation.
The trailer balances the duality of Hannington’s life as a criminal and a mother, ending with her being held at gunpoint.
Turner expressed his great enthusiasm about sharing the captivating biography of Joan Hannington through the film titled “Joan“. Previously, he mentioned this.
“She is one of the most notorious figures in the criminal underworld of London, earning her the nickname ‘The Godmother’.
A mother, who juggles a prosperous yet risky career as a jewel thief while battling to reclaim her daughter from social services, finds herself entangled in the thrilling underworld of crime, struggling with despair.
The program is a joint production between several countries, involving collaboration between The CW and ITV, with broadcasts scheduled in the U.S. by The CW.
Last year, during the production of the show, the head of the network’s entertainment, Brad Schwartz, showered praises on it, describing Turner’s performance as extraordinary and foreseeing it as a strong contender for various awards, deeming it an “awards-worthy” show.
Sophie Turner hasn’t just been cast in her first major ’80s-themed production; she’s actually played a significant role in an ’80s setting before, as she portrayed Jean Grey/Phoenix in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse.
In 2022, Oscar Isaac, the actor portraying the main antagonist, expressed that he felt the movie could have been “more impressive,” yet he also reminisced about the experience with affection.
Joan is due to air soon on ITV, and will stream on ITVX. It will be aired on The CW in the US.
