NASCAR: Full Southern 500 starting lineup if qualifying gets canceled

As a seasoned gamer of NASCAR races, I can tell you that the unpredictable weather at Darlington Raceway always adds an extra layer of excitement to these events. I’ve seen my fair share of qualifying sessions being washed out due to rain, and it certainly shuffles things up in the starting lineup.

On several summer instances, rain has often coincided with NASCAR Cup Series race weekends, and it may do so again this weekend before the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.

As reported by The Weather Channel, there’s approximately a 44% likelihood of intermittent thunderstorms occurring on Saturday, the day when qualifying sessions are planned to determine the starting order for the upcoming 366-lap race. This event will unfold around the egg-shaped Darlington racetrack in South Carolina, which stretches over four turns and measures about 1.366 miles (2.198 kilometers) in length.

If it rains and washes away the qualifying session at the challenging “Too Tough To Tame” track, the starting order for the race will instead be determined using the NASCAR-introduced ranking system from four racing seasons prior.
