BBC One’s new hijack thriller with Joe Cole confirms release date
As a binge-watching, thriller-loving enthusiast with a knack for predicting plot twists (or so I like to believe), the upcoming BBC One series “Nightsleeper” has me absolutely thrilled! With a stellar cast that includes familiar faces from some of my all-time favorite shows, this hijack thriller promises to be an edge-of-my-seat ride.
The upcoming hijack thriller on BBC One, titled “Nightsleeper“, has officially set its premiere date for next month and unveiled an initial, suspenseful trailer.
As a gamer, I’d put it this way: “I find myself playing the role of Joe Cole from ‘Gangs of London’, an off-duty cop named Joe Roag. We’re on a late-night train ride from Glasgow to London, but things take a turn for the unexpected when our train gets hijacked – not by a group of thugs, but by someone remotely overtaking control, or as some might say, ‘hackjacking’.”
Collaboratively, he needs to join forces with Abby Aysgarth, who is a director at the United Kingdom’s National Cyber Security Centre, in an attempt to prevent the train from reaching its final point. (Alexandra Roach portrays Abby Aysgarth in this context)
The BBC has officially revealed that the show will make its first appearance on September 15th. On that date, it’ll be available to stream on BBC iPlayer at 6am, and it will air on BBC One every Sunday and Monday evening, starting from 9pm, over a period of three weeks.
The initial teaser is now available, offering a sneak peek at the exhilarating experiences ahead, as the protagonists strive desperately to halt the train before it’s too late.
“The train has transformed into an autonomous missile, the speaker announces, leading Abby to speculate that one of the passengers might be colluding with hackers. She advises caution and not to rely on anyone.”
As a fan, I’m thrilled to share that this series boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Parth Thakerar from “Gangs of Londo,” Katie Leung known for her role in “Harry Potter,” Leah MacRae from “Baby Reindeer,” Ruth Madeley who starred in “Years and Years,” James Cosmo hailing from “Game of Thrones,” and Sharon Small, a familiar face from “The Bay.”
Joining us are Alex Ferns from “The Devil’s Hour”, David Threlfall known for “Shameless”, Daniel Cahill of “The Control Room”, Lois Chimimba starring in “Vigil”, Gabriel Howell from “The Fence”, Adam Mitchell of “Mother’s Day”, Pamela Nomvete appearing in “Andor”, Scott Reid from “Maxine”, and Sharon Rooney, who has been seen in “Barbie”.
The series titled “Nightsleeper” was penned by Nick Leather. Previously, he expressed that it’s a pleasure to write for this exceptional acting ensemble in the UK. He described the train as an exhilarating rollercoaster ride through Britain, and he’s thrilled to have them all embark on this exciting journey with him.
Nightsleeper will premiere on Sunday, September 15 at 6am on BBC iPlayer and 9pm on BBC One.
