Whitney Leavitt, from the show Mormon Wives, has publicly addressed the recent allegations of domestic violence involving Taylor Frankie Paul.
ABC cancelled Paul’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette last week, just before it was supposed to begin, after shocking video from 2023 surfaced. The video showed Paul physically attacking her former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, while her eight-year-old daughter was present.
The scandal also led to news that Hulu has stopped making more episodes of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” a popular show featuring Paul and Leavitt.
I’ve been following this situation closely, and I finally had a chance to speak with Leavitt, who’s 32, about everything that’s been happening. It was the first time she’s publicly addressed the drama, and we had a really open conversation for Interview Magazine on Wednesday.
Honestly, I’m still sorting through all my feelings about this situation, but let me be clear: the well-being and safety of people – especially kids – is my absolute top priority. It always has to be.
This behavior is absolutely unacceptable, and it will not be excused or ignored.
‘It’s just so fresh. That’s all I have to say about that.’
As a big fan of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, I’m really worried right now. I’ve heard production has been stalled for weeks, and Leavitt just confirmed things aren’t looking great – it’s definitely creating a lot of uncertainty about whether we’ll get another season.
This reality show centers around a group of popular Mormon mothers on social media – often called ‘MomTok’ – whose lives are turned upside down by a scandal involving infidelity. The scandal puts their beliefs, relationships, and public images at risk, according to IMDb.
The show features Paul, Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Jessi Draper, Demi Engemann, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Layla Taylor, and Miranda McWhorter, who joined the cast in its second season.
The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives, which is mostly centered around Paul, first began airing in 2024.
Season four wrapped on Hulu on March 12, 2026 just days before the Paul scandal erupted.
Filming for season five has been temporarily halted due to recent allegations of domestic violence involving Paul, age 31, and her former partner, Mortensen, 33. The incident, which reportedly happened in February and is currently being investigated by Utah authorities, led to the production pause.
TMZ reports the future of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” is uncertain. Apparently, the show’s production company, JJP, has brought in an investigator to look into claims of conflict among the cast members.
According to a source, the future of the Hulu show is on hold until ABC can examine the results of an investigation.
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Hulu and ABC for comment.
I’m hearing some concerning news about Paul right now. It seems he’s facing another investigation – this time, it’s a third allegation of domestic violence brought forth by his former partner. It’s a really difficult situation, and we’re following the story as it develops, hoping for a resolution that prioritizes everyone’s safety and well-being.
According to NBC News, police in West Jordan, Utah, say that in 2024, Mortensen reported to them that Paul had committed domestic violence.
West Jordan police are investigating an incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen, according to a statement given to The Daily Mail.
The claims surfaced in late February 2026, and investigators have examined video footage thought to be from early or mid-2024.
Detectives are currently collecting and checking facts, and speaking with people connected to the case. No one has been charged yet, as the investigation is still underway.
We understand many people are following this case closely. However, it’s being investigated just like any other, following our standard procedures and consistently applied rules. We don’t make exceptions.
Details about what happened are limited, but a spokesperson told NBC News that Mortensen contacted the police about the issue last month.
Okay, so I’m totally glued to every update, and apparently the department is going through all the footage – like, everything – trying to piece together exactly what happened and when. They’re really trying to get the full story, and honestly, I’m analyzing every frame with them in my head! It’s just… everything hinges on getting the timeline right, you know?
According to a spokesperson, police currently only have information from Mortensen’s account of what happened and haven’t spoken with Paul yet. Mortensen’s lawyers are in touch with the investigators.
Paul’s representatives didn’t offer a statement. The Daily Mail also reached out to Mortensen for comment, but hadn’t received a response as of yet.
Police are asking Paul to either provide a written statement or agree to an interview. They need his help to confirm details in Mortensen’s account.
Mortensen explained to West Jordan police that Draper Police had directed him to them because of where the alleged incident in 2024 took place.
This news follows another ongoing investigation into Paul and Mortensen, who are accused of domestic assault.
A department spokesperson previously told People magazine that both sides have made claims. They also confirmed that officials reached out to those involved on February 24th and 25th.
The upcoming season of The Bachelorette featuring Paul was canceled shortly before it was scheduled to air. This followed the release of a disturbing 2023 video showing her physically assaulting someone, with her young daughter, Indy, witnessing the incident.
That case was public knowledge for years before video of the dispute came to light.
Paul is a father to four children. He and Dakota share a son named Ever. Paul also has a daughter, Indy, and a son, Ocean, with his former husband, Tate.
On Friday, Mortensen obtained a restraining order against Paul, stating she posed an immediate danger to his well-being.
Following the cancellation, the reality star publicly revealed she had endured years of ‘severe mental and physical abuse and threats’ without speaking out.
Taylor is now ready to confront the person accusing her and is taking measures to protect herself and her children from future harm, according to her representative.
They also stated that Paul has remained silent because she fears continued mistreatment, repercussions, and embarrassment, and is now getting help, considering her choices, and getting ready to publicly reveal what happened to her.
Mortensen has refuted recent untrue statements about him and his relationship in a statement to The Daily Mail.
He released a statement saying the video is clearly disturbing. He added that he’s become accustomed to false accusations about him and their relationship, and he completely rejects them.
‘I am focusing on our son and his safety, and hope that Taylor will do the same.’
