Katie Price ‘shuts down travel business venture two weeks in’ – after receiving backlash for attempting to recruit ‘part time’ agents along with Danielle Lloyd

Katie Price has closed her new travel company after only two weeks, reportedly due to criticism from people working in the travel industry.

Katie Price, a 47-year-old known for her previous modeling work, started an Instagram page called Katie Price Travels. Along with Danielle Lloyd, 42, another TV personality, she was trying to find people to work as travel agents for InteleTravel, using the name Travel Smarter Group.

Last Thursday, Katie posted an advert promoting an agent recruitment session alongside Danielle.

Despite growing complaints from people in the travel industry, the account seems to have been removed.

Daily Mail has contacted Katie’s representative for comment.

It comes just days after Katie responded to critics over her attempt to recruit travel agents.

The advertisement invites you to learn how to earn money through travel, alongside your existing schedule, with Katie Price and Danielle Lloyd. It highlights the opportunity to work flexibly, travel often, and boost your income.

But the post was met with a wave of criticism, with industry insiders calling it out.

Inspire Europe‘s CEO, Lisa Henning, strongly criticized the advertisement, particularly given the challenges the industry is already facing due to the conflict in the Middle East.

She rarely speaks out about advertising for travel agents, but she felt compelled to address Katie Price’s recent promotion of an event aimed at recruiting part-time agents. She considered it unacceptable.

I’ve been working around the clock for the last 12 days, completely dedicated to helping both our clients and our agents navigate all the difficulties caused by the disruptions in Dubai and other places. It’s been intense, but I’m committed to making sure everyone gets the support they need.

I’ve been incredibly impressed watching our teams prioritize getting people home safely. Our agents have consistently gone the extra mile for their customers, even working long hours and sacrificing their earnings when trips were disrupted. That’s the dedication you expect from true travel professionals.

I’ve witnessed how deeply agents care for their clients, often seeing them upset about difficult situations. I’ve also spoken with clients who were incredibly distressed and just wanted to return home.

Seeing advertisements that claim you can easily ‘make money while traveling,’ especially those with celebrities like Katie Price and Danielle Lloyd, feels like a real insult to those of us who work as dedicated travel agents. It misrepresents the job as something casual you can do on the side, and that’s incredibly frustrating.

This isn’t a quick way to make extra cash. It’s not a fleeting trend, and it definitely isn’t about getting rich while traveling without effort.

But Katie Price’s PA responded to the comments, Travel Gossip reported.

Katie doesn’t book travel herself. She’s just providing a platform to help others become independent travel agents and earn extra money, either as a side hustle or a full-time job.

Everyone in our network receives comprehensive training and is dedicated to helping their clients succeed. Many join us seeking improved financial futures for themselves and their families, and they consistently put in the effort to achieve those goals.

It’s frustrating when someone tries to hinder our work. Like all travel agents, we sometimes face issues like flight cancellations or schedule changes, and unfortunately, these are often beyond our ability to fix.

She went on to say: ‘Katie was simply advertising an opportunity call.’

She emphasized that it’s crucial to remember the human side of business – these are people whose jobs and lives are affected by what happens. Spreading false information or making unfounded accusations doesn’t just harm one individual; it can negatively impact everyone who has worked to build a successful business.

It comes after many other people working in the travel industry hit out at the ad.

Travel counselor Nicola Dack recently warned people on social media to be cautious about who they book their vacations with and to protect their money.

Traveling isn’t just a hobby; it’s a full-time job. It’s a constant commitment, always available when things don’t go as planned.

For 29 years, I’ve dedicated my career to travel, helping clients navigate everything from unexpected flight changes and airline problems to global events. That kind of experience and personalized support can’t be learned quickly through a short online course. While anyone can book a vacation, not everyone provides the dedicated care you need when things go wrong.

Francesca Barone, who owns Elite Cruises, stated she doesn’t have any personal issues with either of the women involved, but believes travel agents who start their businesses temporarily (‘pop-up’ agents) aren’t credible, according to Travel Weekly.

She explained that success in this field isn’t about quick gains. It takes real dedication, resilience, and a commitment to providing excellent service, even when facing difficult situations.

I’ve noticed these kinds of ads popping up recently, and honestly, as someone who’s worked in the travel industry since 1994, it’s a bit upsetting to see.

I usually don’t respond to things like this, but after what’s happened over the past ten days, I feel it’s important to share my perspective.

The notion that anyone can quickly become a travel agent as a simple side job really undermines the work involved. It’s much more than just booking flights or finding hotels; it’s a real profession.

For nearly thirty years, I’ve handled everything from major global events and travel problems to the complicated legal side of travel protection. I understand how airline ticketing and complex trip planning really work, and I’ve built strong, long-term relationships with travel suppliers – something you won’t find with someone who just books travel as a side hobby.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always excited to see entrepreneurial ventures, and Danielle Lloyd’s is a great example! She’s partnered with Inteletravel, a fantastic homeworking agency, and she’s actually using that collaboration to help others build their own travel businesses. She teamed up with Katie to advertise the opportunity and recruit new agents – it’s all about empowering people to live the lifestyle they dream of!

Danielle, an agent with Intele, appeared in an advertisement to attract new members to join InteleTravel, which operates under the name Travel Smarter Group.

Danielle uses her Instagram, @travelsmarterwithmissdlloyd, to share her experiences working in the travel industry and encourage others to consider a career as a travel agent.

Danielle declined to comment at the time.
