Tara Reid has been seen in public again after a three-month investigation concluded regarding allegations that someone tampered with her drink at a hotel bar.
The actress, best known for her role in American Pie, claims she was drugged by someone after having a single drink at a hotel near Chicago’s O’Hare airport on November 23, 2025. She is 50 years old.
After a hotel worker called 911, she was carried out on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. A video of the incident has since gone viral.
I remember when that terrible story was all over the news – it was truly shocking. But honestly, I was so disappointed to learn that the Rosemont Police Department just closed the investigation after only three weeks. It felt like they didn’t really try to get to the bottom of things.
As a long-time follower of this case, I understand the police haven’t dismissed Reid’s statements as lies, but they’ve explained they simply don’t have enough proof right now to take the investigation any further. It’s frustrating, but it seems they’re being careful about proceeding without solid evidence.
Reid appeared cheerful on Monday while out in Los Angeles. She recently gave an exclusive interview to the Daily Mail about the incident that occurred in December.
The actress was joined by her musician friend Tina Win.
Reid flashed a wide smile as she and her pal arrived at a restaurant, where they dined outdoors.
She wore a pink and gold satin jacket, paired with ripped skinny jeans and pink high-top sneakers decorated with silver studs.
She had her signature bleached blonde hair and she wore a full face of makeup.
On December 17, 2025, the Rosemont Police Department told TMZ they were ending their investigation into the claims that Reid’s drink had been spiked.
The police stated they aren’t disputing the claims, but currently lack evidence to back them up and have no further leads to pursue. They added that if new evidence emerges, they will reopen the investigation.
In early December, Reid stated she felt unfairly criticized and intimidated after police confirmed they found no video showing anyone interfering with her drink at the hotel.
Reid recently told Us Weekly that she has no recollection of events after having her first drink. She explained that she only remembers feeling unwell and suspecting she might have been drugged, as she couldn’t explain how she ended up in a hospital gown with no memory of what happened.
It’s been really upsetting to see the media misrepresent my statements and criticize me for having a lapse in memory, and it’s taking a toll on my well-being.
I’m really struggling with feeling targeted and criticized for something I don’t even remember happening. It’s hard to move forward and heal when so many people are watching and talking about it, and it’s made me afraid to go out in public.
It’s unusual to be hospitalized for eleven hours just from drinking wine, and since I hadn’t taken any medication that day, I realized something was seriously wrong.
‘Whether I had additional drinks after that doesn’t matter, the fact is I don’t remember anything.’
Reid requested privacy, understanding, and time to recover. She explained that she had been completely honest, sharing her memories and feelings as she experienced them.
I was really worried when I saw the footage from that night. It looked like poor Jen was having a tough time – she wasn’t making much sense, and I saw her almost slide out of her wheelchair in the hotel lobby. Thankfully, some people were there to help her back in, but then paramedics had to take her away on a stretcher. It was just heartbreaking to watch.
According to a police report, Reid stated she was in the lobby with several YouTubers and felt uneasy because most of them were filming with their phones.
In her report, she stated that after briefly going outside with one of the men, she came back to find a napkin placed over her drink.
Reid explained to the officers that the last thing he recalled was having a drink and noticing a couple seated nearby.
I woke up in the hospital, probably eight hours or more after the incident, and I had no idea where I was or what had happened. I had completely lost my memory of everything.
The Rosemont Public Safety Department stated to the Daily Mail that security camera footage showed no evidence of anyone interfering with or putting anything into Reid’s drink.
Okay, so I heard from a really reliable source that when she left, the bartender totally had her back – they covered her drink, which, honestly, is just what they always do, you know? It’s just standard procedure for them to look out for people like that, and it makes me feel so much better knowing they were watching out for her!
Officials stated that no crime has been committed and they are not currently investigating anyone.
