Blake Lively's brother-in-law DEFENDS actress amid It Ends With Us drama with co-star Justin Baldoni: 'The truth has not come out yet'

As a long-time admirer and friend of Blake Lively, I find myself deeply moved by the unwavering support she has received during these challenging times. From her childhood days with Elaine Lively to her recent roles that touch our hearts, Blake has always been more than just an actress – she’s a beacon of resilience and compassion.

In a supportive stance, Bart Johnson, who is married to Blake Lively’s elder sister, Robyn, vigorously defended Blake against criticism surrounding her endorsement of “It Ends with Us”. He hinted subtly that the full story behind the controversy hasn’t been revealed yet.

Despite most members of her close circle, including husband Ryan Reynolds and friend Taylor Swift, being quiet in response to Lively’s professional struggles, Johnson, at 53 years old, publicly demonstrated his steadfast support for the former Gossip Girl, now 37, via Instagram.

On Monday, as the actor, well-known for portraying Zac Efron’s father in High School Musical, extended birthday wishes, he reminisced about their enduring friendship that has spanned over time.

For three decades, Blake has been my closest companion! Subsequently, following our collaboration on my debut acting role in the movie ‘Mi Familia’, Blake’s father offered me a position instructing his teenage acting class. That’s where our story started.

He continued: ‘Countless stories of family trips and vacations, chaperoning her school field trips and MOST important, helping me gain favor of her older sister Robyn (now wife of 25 years) who didn’t know I existed for years after knowing Blake!!’

For three decades, I’ve cherished a deep friendship with a remarkable woman who is kind-hearted, devoted, industrious, and inspiring. She strives to better the world around her and has served as an exceptional role model in countless ways, teaching compassion, spreading kindness, and prioritizing family above all else. Truly an amazing wife and mother, she deserves every bit of admiration I can muster!

Johnson expressed: ‘As I grow older, I aspire to be like her. There’s still a lot of ground to cover. LOVE YOU, BLake!!! (These are some of my most cherished photos over the years, particularly dancing in an airport during swing time). HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear sister!!!’

Under the post, he replied to one of his followers comments claiming Lively was wrong for ‘promoting happiness in a domestic violence setting without any regard for any victims.’

“Apologies if you’re feeling upset, but I truly believe your intentions are pure and you wish only the best. However, let me assure you that there are still truths yet to be revealed. This film has demanded more from Blake than any project I’ve ever witnessed in my lifetime – it holds immense significance for her.”

Johnson continued to emphasize that the message within her film adaptation of Colleen Hover’s 2016 novel “It Ends With Us” is significant.

‘The message is in the book. And in the movie. Not in short clips/interviews. She is the reason the message/this movie/is getting out,’ he wrote.

Still, he seemingly acknowledged that promotion of the film could have been better.

As a passionate admirer, let me say this: ‘Of course, errors have been committed, as we all stumble in life. Yet, my missteps don’t come under the magnifying glass like yours seem to. Regardless, I value your perspective. All I have for you is respect and affection.’

In echo of admiration, I can’t help but express my sentiments, mirroring those of Robyn, who hailed Johnson as one of the finest souls she’s encountered. Her post serves as a heartfelt response to that glowing tribute, doesn’t it?

She posted on Instagram, ‘I adore this girl, who is also my sister, my closest friend, and my playmate! Happy birthday, dearest sis-pants!’

In addition to Blake and Robyn, Elaine Lively has other talented children in the acting profession as well. These include Lori, aged 57, Eric who is 43 years old, and Jason Lively, aged 56.

Lately, Blake has been receiving criticism due to her insensitive comments made during her recent press tour and rumors about disputes backstage involving her and Baldoni.

Despite the controversy and public uproar surrounding the film, its performance has remained strong, as it delves into the story of a woman breaking free from an abusive partnership.

Over the weekend, the movie finished in third position, having been shown for three consecutive weeks in cinemas and earning $11.85 million. Globally, this drama has already grossed over $242.6 million.

Many fans agreed with Robyn’s assessment of the situation and her description of her baby sister.

‘Blake is truly wonderful! It’s important for her to realize that there are many more people who admire her, compared to those with critical opinions. Wishing her a very happy birthday!’

‘Thank you for this,’ replied Robyn, who also had a role in It Ends With Us.

‘Finally a post about Blake I can get behind!,’ commented another follower.

‘Happy Birthday Mamacita! Enjoy it, bask in it, take a load off & run wild ladies x.’
