Will Emily Atack miss out on lucrative The Inbetweeners reboot after 'former fling James Buckley had her axed from last reunion'

As a dedicated follower of The Inbetweeners since its inception, I can’t help but feel a whirlwind of emotions upon learning about the potential reboot. Joe Thomas’ announcement has sent fans into a frenzy, and rightfully so! The idea of Simon, Jay, Will, and Neil back together again is simply too enticing to ignore. However, the elephant in the room seems to be Emily Atack’s absence from the lineup.

This week, enthusiasts of The Inbetweeners were overjoyed as Joe Thomas announced that discussions about a revival are underway.

In his statement, Joe, aged 40, who played the character Simon in the popular coming-of-age comedy that wrapped up a decade ago, mentioned that the entire principal cast is eager to reunite for another project.

Given that James Buckley (Jay), Simon Bird (Will), and Blake Harrison (Neil) are all involved, it’s looking more probable that they might make another film rather than a fresh TV series. The storyline would likely focus on the gang of friends after their school days.

Nevertheless, fans find themselves pondering whether Emily Atack, known for her role as Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the E4 series, might still be involved in the reboot following her unexpected absence during the previous cast reunion.

2019 saw the stars of the series hosting “The Inbetweeners: Friends Reunited,” a talk-show style event that brought together Jessica Knappett, Lydia Rose Bewley, and Lauren O’Rourke, all of whom were in the first installment of the two Inbetweeners movies.

Nonetheless, Emily didn’t appear in the 10th anniversary special, while it was reported that James took part in the event.

Back then, reports indicated that James made it clear to the producers, “It’s either her or I,” due to a previous romantic encounter they shared when they were both unattached.

The Sun implied that James might have been concerned his spouse, Claire, could discover their short-lived romance that occurred between 2008 and 2010 while they were both on the show.

It seems Emily found out a day prior to the reunion that her presence was no longer needed.

According to our source, Emily received a call from the production team just 24 hours before her scheduled filming time. The team was both ashamed and apologetic. They had to inform Emily that James had requested her removal from the program.

In their younger days, when both were single, this duo shared a few playful kisses. However, during their reunion, James wished to avoid making a big deal out of it and also keep his wife, Claire, uninvolved.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but spill my thoughts: I was left reeling when an insider revealed that those passionate kisses she exchanged with James were just empty gestures. To top it off, learning that I wasn’t even essential for the show left me in utter shock and dismay.

James seemed to find it disagreeable that Emily had recently appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, stating it conflicted with the image of The Inbetweeners.

Emily seemed disheartened after learning about James’ remarks, as he asserted that her appearance on the reality show was lacking in taste or style.

James’ representatives refused to comment at the time.

The bubbly blonde apparently opened up about the information during Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast.

According to the source, Richard expressed doubts to The Sun, stating that it couldn’t be Joe Thomas because he is a very kind person.

Later, he mentioned James Buckley. Emily momentarily hesitated before exclaiming “James Fowley!”, which elicited a massive chuckle from the crowd.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself encountering a fair amount of elitism. To put it mildly, I felt it best not to delve deeper into the subject.

The comedian previously revealed that she had ‘no idea’ why she was scrapped from the reunion.

On Capital Radio, she expressed that she wasn’t sure about the circumstances. She had been scheduled to participate in it and was quite excited about it. However, it seems she was informed a day prior that she was no longer required for the event.

Without any hard feelings, Emily went on to say: ‘I truly hope they succeed, and I have no doubt that their work will not disappoint the fans.’

TopMob has contacted Emily’s representatives for comment.

Emily is currently enjoying a break from work while she adjusts to motherhood.

She welcomed her first child – son Barney – in June with her boyfriend Alistair Garner.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve been acquainted with my partner Alistair for nearly three decades – an interesting connection given that his stepmother, Jane Garner, happens to be my aunt.

They came into being around the time when Emily’s aunt began dating Stephen Garner, who later became Alistair’s father, in the early nineties. Their union culminated in their marriage in 1994.

Back in March, the actress who played a role in “The Inbetweeners” announced to her followers that she was approximately six months along in her pregnancy and gave them a rough estimate of when her baby might arrive.

In her interview on BBC Breakfast, she disclosed the news and additionally revealed that she is welcoming a baby boy.

In an episode of Loose Women, she shared that pregnancy had shifted her focus and preparedness as they eagerly awaited the arrival of their son.

She shared with the group her immense joy about the upcoming arrival of her baby, expressing a strong sense of bonding with her body that feels even deeper now.

Instead of constantly being scolded by my friends for neglecting self-care and staying up excessively late, I now find myself saying, “My body is a sacred container.”

She later added: ‘It’s so important that I get an early night and I’m really looking after myself’.
