Beetlejuice Beetlejuice runtime confirmed as longer than original movie
As a fan who’s been enamored with Tim Burton’s whimsical world since the original Beetlejuice graced our screens back in 1988, I must say, the anticipation for this sequel has me positively giddy! A whole 10 minutes longer than its predecessor? That’s like adding a whole extra sandwich to an already delightful picnic.
The upcoming sequel to Beetlejuice will reportedly have a longer running time compared to the initial movie.
Before its premiere on September 6th, it’s been announced that the movie will last for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. This is more than a 10-minute extension compared to the initial film, which was only 92 minutes long.
In the upcoming sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 film, we can expect Michael Keaton to reprise his role as Betelgeuse, Winona Ryder will return as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O’Hara will be back as Delia Deetz. Additionally, the talented actress Jenna Ortega from “Wednesday” has been added to the impressive cast, taking on the character of Astrid, Lydia’s teenage daughter.
Decades after the initial film, the characters Delia, Lydia, and Astrid will reunite at Winter River following a family death, and it is Beetlejuice who will be summoned once again.
As I’m still grappling with the enigma of Betelgeuse, my world abruptly flips over when my defiant teenager unearths a puzzling gateway to the hereafter – a revelation that sets us on an unpredictable journey. This is according to the official summary.
If you call out the name of Betelgeuse thrice, a playful spirit with a knack for causing chaos joyfully reappears to wreak his unique kind of havoc.
Among the remarkable actors gracing our screen are none other than myself, along with Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, Burn Gornam, Danny DeVito, and House of the Dragon’s own Arthur Conti. What a stellar cast!
Keaton recently spoke about how the sequel improves upon its predecessor, sharing (via GamesRadar): “[It has] a stronger story. There’s more of a connection for the audience in terms of the other characters.
He went on, expressing, “There are surprises within this I wasn’t prepared for, and they’re more wonderful than expected. Instead of eagerly anticipating the arrival of something or yearning for Beetlejuice to become uncontrollable,” he said.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will hit cinemas on September 6.
