The Penguin and 9 more titles to stream on HBO and Max this September 2024

As a fan who grew up with Harry Potter under my bed and Batman comics stacked high on my shelves, I can hardly contain my excitement for the coming months! The lineup for HBO Max in September 2024 is nothing short of magical, especially with the arrival of “The Penguin” and the return of “My Brilliant Friend.”

If you’re not already subscribed to Max, the month of September is the perfect time to sign up. There are over 80 shows and movies being added to the platform over the next several weeks. Below, we highlight the releases we are looking forward to the most, including anticipated new series and returning favorites!

It’s no secret that “The Penguin” is one of the most highly anticipated shows of this year. Ever since the cast was revealed, we’ve been buzzing with excitement, especially about Colin Farrell’s performance – I just have a feeling he’ll be fantastic. The series has certainly given us quite a rollercoaster ride. Initially, there were doubts if it would ever make it to our screens due to the complications between HBO and Max, contract issues, and numerous other obstacles. However, against all odds, “The Penguin” has managed to clear each hurdle.

The show titled “The Penguin” is an original production by HBO, serving as a sequel to Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”. Colin Farrell will take on the role of the infamous villain, and alongside him, we have Cristin Milioti playing Sofia Falcone, Clancy Brown, Mark Strong, Rhenzy Feliz, Carmen Ejogo, Theo Rossi, and others in the crime drama. The series is set to air on HBO (and will also be available for streaming on Max on the same date) starting September 19th. As we eagerly anticipate the premiere of “The Penguin”, there’s plenty to keep us engaged! Here are our top picks, take a look below.
