In the upcoming thriller titled “I Want Your Body,” Cooper Hoffman will be sharing the screen with Olivia Wilde.
The 21-year-old actor is the son of late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died in 2014 at age 46.
According to Variety, the new movie set to hit theaters is penned by both Gregg Araki and Karley Sciortino, and it’s scheduled to start filming in Los Angeles in October.
In the upcoming production, Wilder, aged 40, is set to embody the enigmatic figure of Erika Tracy, who serves as the sexual inspiration for Hoffman’s character, Elliot.
As reported by an entertainment magazine, the film delves into topics such as desire, fixation, control, deceit, and homicide.
The movie was initially announced in May, without anyone cast in the role of Elliot.
Cooper made his acting debut in 2021’s coming-of-age film Licorice Pizza alongside Alana Haim, 32.
In my observations, I’ve found that many of the movies I admire were masterfully directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, a filmmaker I’ve come to greatly respect. Interestingly, he has collaborated with his father on various projects across his distinguished career.
Anderson and Hoffman collaborated on a total of five films: “Hard Eight”, “Boogie Nights”, “Magnolia”, “Punch-Drunk Love”, and “The Master”.
The actor also starred in Almost Famous and The Talented Mr. Ripley.
He died on February 2, 2014 in New York City of acute mixed drug intoxication.
In a 2022 conversation with the Associated Press, Cooper pondered back on his journey into acting.
He mentioned that it had never truly occurred to him as an option, and he further explained that he had been somewhat apprehensive about getting involved in that field since his father excelled in it.
The budding star opened up about being on set of Licorice Pizza, explaining, ‘In a weird way, it felt almost like I was stepping into my dad’s shoes.
‘It really was this feeling of: Maybe this is what he felt like. It was this weird out-of-body experience. I felt incredibly close to my dad through the whole shooting process.’
Speaking of Wilde, her latest directorial project was the 2022 film “Don’t Worry Darling,” during which she crossed paths with Harry Styles, then a 26-year-old member of One Direction.
The pair struck up a surprise romance and dated for two years.
Wilde and her ex-fiance, Jason Sudeikis, have a family of two kids: Otis, aged 10, and Daisy who is 7.
Wilde always claimed she and Sudeikis split up at the start of 2020, but they actually split 10 months later – weeks after she began filming with Styles.
In a 2022 blockbuster interview with DailyMail.com, their longtime nanny, who had been with them for three years and found herself caught between the disputing couple during the war, shared her perspective on the story.
The nanny mentioned that Sudeikis discovered all the specifics about Wilde’s connection with Styles by examining messages on a forgotten Apple Watch belonging to Wilde.
On November 15, there was an alleged incident where it’s said that the actor from Ted Lasso reportedly became upset and pursued Olivia, who had just prepared a salad for Styles, in their shared kitchen.
Jason went outside and lay under her car so she wouldn’t leave, the nanny said.
