The prospect of welcoming a new event-exclusive character like Splish-Splash Wavechaser Mualani, complete with her unique playstyle and shark mount, has me absolutely thrilled!

In the maintenance scheduled for the 28th of August, 2024, the banners for Genshin Impact’s Version 5.0 Phase 1 will become active. These banners will remain until the 17th of September, 2024, at 17:59 server time. During this period, players can expect to see one new 4-star character, one new 5-star character, and one new 5-star weapon.

In this advertisement, you’ll see the introduction of the first-time appearance of the 5-star character named “Splish-Splash Wavechaser” Mualani, who specializes in hydro and catalyst abilities. Furthermore, this banner includes the debut of a freshly unveiled 4-star character called “Mottled Gold Yet Unsmelted” Kachina, who excels in geo and polearm skills. Kazuha will have four 4-star characters joining him: “Untouched Gold, Still Unrefined” Kachina (geo/polearm), “Flaming Melody” Xinyan (pyro/claymore), “Test by Fire” Bennett (pyro/sword), and these characters, except Kachina, can be obtained from the regular wish “Wanderlust Invocation” without any increased drop rates. Starting with version 5.0, Kachina will also become available in the “Wanderlust Invocation.”

As a gamer, I’m super excited about Mualani, the initial event-exclusive 5* character hailing from the fascinating land of Natlan! She brings a fresh, one-of-a-kind gameplay experience and gets you a swim-ready shark mount for cruising around the overworld and above water. The enhanced exploration potential is a fantastic reason to consider summoning her. But remember, it’s wise to hold off for a few days to gauge if she’s truly worth the pull.

As a dedicated gamer, I can confidently say that Kazuha has consistently shone as an elite buffer in any elemental team setup. He’s been a game-changer, and I believe he’ll keep delivering top-tier performance. If you’re considering adding him to your roster or upgrading his constellations, it’s definitely worth the pull, all the way up to C2.

Out of the four characters, Kachina can be obtained without cost as you advance in the Archon Quest. Bennett stands out as a highly effective ATK booster and healer. Unfortunately, Xinyan is considered one of the least powerful characters available.

Concerning the weapons, Freedom Sworn stands out as the top choice for Kazuha, and it’s also a strong contender for Kuki Shinobu in Hyperbloom teams. On the other hand, Surf’s Up is Mualani’s signature weapon, making her the only character who can make the most of it so far. When it comes to 4-star weapons, all except the Favonius’s Greatsword are excellent for support characters.
