Transgender reality star Jazz Jennings celebrates losing almost 100 pounds in two years as she shows off her weight loss: ‘So proud of my progress’

As a fellow human being who has experienced the rollercoaster ride of emotional struggles and self-discovery, I can empathize deeply with Jazz Jennings’ journey. Her strength and resilience are truly inspiring, as she navigates through life’s challenges with grace and determination.

Jazz Jennings shared that she’s shed close to 100 pounds, flaunting her slimmer silhouette and showcasing her journey in an updated Instagram post.

As a devoted follower, I eagerly shared the recent video update from the 23-year-old reality TV sensation on my social media platforms yesterday. This heartwarming clip was a celebration of her weight loss journey, showcasing a stunning comparison between her physique now and two years ago.

The person known as Jazz, who became well-known through the I Am Jazz series that chronicled her experiences as a transgender person, posted this: “It’s been two years since then, and I’ve lost nearly 100 pounds!”

I am beaming with pride over my advancements, and I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my loved ones, acquaintances, and everyone who has been instrumental in helping me achieve this milestone! Achieving good health isn’t about displaying a certificate; it’s about consistently putting forth the effort.

I’m not perfect yet, but my enthusiasm and inspiration are at an all-time high recently. Let’s continue on this positive trajectory!

The video showed Jennings working out now and two years ago.

One part, titled ‘Me 2 years ago’, showed her struggling to run and resting against a wall.

The clip then transitioned to Jazz working out now, looking slimmed down and running with ease.

She expressed her satisfaction with her advancements toward improved health, yet emphasized that she continues striving to achieve even more objectives, as noted in her video message.

As a devoted admirer, I find myself thoroughly impressed by Jazz’s remarkable transformation. One fan, in particular, expressed their pride with these words: “I am so proud of you! You look fantastic!! Continue your excellent work!”

“They remarked how great and healthy you appear, which is truly significant. You’re an inspiring figure indeed.”

‘Jazz you look amazing either way girl!’ someone else chimed in.

In January, the reality TV personality shared that she had shed approximately 70 pounds, expressing her feelings by saying, “I’m feeling more joyful and vigorous than I have in years.”

I’ve got some distance left to cover, but I’m incredibly proud to have started making the right moves for improving my mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

2021 marked my commitment to regular gym workouts, a journey I’ve been sharing on TLC. As a vocal transgender advocate, I bravely admitted that my weight increase stemmed from a struggle with binge eating.

In the seventh season of the series, she addressed her weight and self-perception, featuring a segment where she’s seen working out at the gym with a companion.

‘I can’t do this,’ she says. ‘But I can, and I’ll try… but I can’t.’

Jazz complains through a workout, though she is determined to do her best.

She admits feeling embarrassed, mentioning that during her youth, she was quite prominent in her actions, as footage of her playing soccer from her teenage years is shown on screen.

As someone who once excelled in soccer, I held the title of the top player on the field. In the 40-yard dash, my speed was unmatched. Now, it seems as though I’m being brought down a peg or two, she says.

Jazz shared at the time that her friends were a source of support for her.

For such a lengthy period, they’ve been acquainted with me, witnessing my transformations as I moved through various shapes and sizes. However, it’s unprecedented for them to observe me reaching a state like the one I’m currently in, where I’ve attained this specific weight.

She states, “They tell me I’m gorgeous regardless of my size, yet more importantly, they promise to support me throughout my journey if I choose to focus on weight loss for improved health. They’re ready to accompany me every step of the way.”

Additionally, she emphasized that her weight loss was primarily motivated by health concerns rather than aesthetics, and that her self-perception of beauty is independent of her body size.

‘I honestly feel beautiful at every shape and size. Like I love my body the way it is,’ she said.

‘I must admit, my goal is to shed pounds for health benefits, but it’s also crucial for my well-being. Some of the food I’ve been consuming doesn’t sit well with me, so I’ve been striving to improve my diet and become healthier overall, which will help me feel more like myself.’

Additionally, she mentioned that she’s been content with her physical self ever since undergoing gender reassignment surgery approximately three and a half years ago.

“After years of striving, I’ve achieved the physique I’ve long dreamed of, and it’s not just my appearance that’s transformed – my mind and body are now perfectly in sync. It’s as if a missing piece has finally found its place, leaving me feeling whole and fulfilled.”

In another scene, Jazz’s siblings sat her down for an intervention-style meeting about her weight.

Her siblings, Sander, Griffen, and Ari, presented her with a ‘square of ideas’ detailing their plans to assist her in improving her diet, exercise regimen, and daily routine, all aimed at restoring her health.

Jazz, a student at Harvard University, temporarily paused her academic journey to manage her eating disorder.

Back when the new season started, I couldn’t help but get all worked up as I watched Jazz’s entire family voice their thoughts on her dining habits. They grilled her with questions about the amount of butter she slathered onto her pasta during dinner.

In a recorded conversation, Jazz shared that they frequently encounter body shaming from their family members. This treatment leaves them feeling deeply embarrassed and humiliated. Notably, Jazz revealed this truth when they were five years old, having come out as transgender at such an early age.

Previously, Jazz had shared that about two years back, he found himself en route to one of the most prestigious places globally; however, he faced a severe battle with his mental well-being instead.

Initially, I fell into the habit of overeating, which led me to continuously add pounds upon pounds. Now, approximately 100 pounds heavier than before, this is where I stand today.

Clips showed Jazz stepping onto a bathroom scale, which clocked her weight at 234 lbs.

In previous times, Jazz has openly talked about her battles with compulsive overeating. This issue can be traced back to a YouTube video from 2018 where she candidly shared her experiences of binge eating.

She did manage to shed weight, dropping 30 lbs. ahead of her gender confirmation surgery.

“She shared that she needed to fundamentally change her mindset about food, seeing it in a new light,” she expressed to People at that point in time.

Due to my tendency to cope with emotional stress by overindulging in food, I developed a habit of binge-eating. This behavior got out of hand, leading me to frequently visit McDonald’s, where I would order 20 chicken nuggets, three chocolate chip cookies, and a large serving of fries. It was quite unhealthy.

It became crucial for me to halt that activity, as I came to understand it was detrimental to my health. It’s important that I prioritize self-care instead.
