As a seasoned horror enthusiast who’s spent countless nights huddled under blankets while watching the scariest films, I’m thrilled to see such a diverse and chilling lineup hitting Max this September! The prospect of revisiting classics like The Batman vs. Dracula and The Shining, or diving into contemporary terrors like Bodies Bodies Bodies and I Saw the TV Glow, has me shivering with anticipation.


In just a few days, we’ll bid farewell to August and welcome the arrival of September! Next up, Max has plans to unveil numerous horror films and series on their platform starting from next month. Climax (2019)

Titled as a psychological horror movie, “Climax” unfolds the story of a group of young dancers who convene in an abandoned school for their final rehearsals before a performance. To celebrate the end of their practice sessions, they decide to host a party in the same venue. However, the festivities take an ominous turn when it is revealed that the sangria they’ve been drinking contains a hallucinogenic substance. As the drug kicks in, the dancers exhibit bizarre behavior, and what was intended as a joyful night transforms into a terrifying ordeal.

However, the friendly game takes a darker turn as the friends start mysteriously disappearing one by one in this chilling tale.

I Saw the TV Glow (2024)

In a different light: I noticed the television emit stars as it depicted Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine playing best friends drawn into a harrowing journey once their beloved late-night show suddenly stops airing. Ian Foreman, Helena Howard, Fred Durst, and Danielle Deadwyler are among the other cast members in this horror movie.

Uzumaki (2024)

Max release date: Sept. 29, 2024

The forthcoming anime series, titled “Uzumaki,” is adapted from the chilling Japanese horror manga by Junji Ito. This spine-tingling tale will unfold across four captivating episodes. The initial broadcast of this series will take place on Adult Swim starting September 28th, followed by its arrival on Max the day after.

“Let’s leave this town together,” asks Shuichi Saito, a former classmate of Kirie Goshima, a high school girl who was born and grew up in Kurouzu-cho. Everything from a strange whirlwind, billowing smoke from the crematorium, and the residents is turning into spirals. People’s eyes spin in whirls, a tongue spirals, and the bodies twist unnaturally. In an attempt to escape the curse of the spirals, Kirie decides to flee from Kuouzu-cho, but can she get away from this turmoil?
