Hulu slays ‘Buffy’ sequel series, leaving fans disappointed yet hopeful for a revival

Disney+ has cancelled the planned revival of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” just a year after star Sarah Michelle Gellar announced it was happening. Gellar shared the disappointing news with fans in a short Instagram video, calling the cancellation “really sad.” She was going to be an executive producer on the show, which was tentatively named “Buffy: New Sunnydale,” and Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao was set to direct.
