Prince William ditched the bearded look for his recent family outing
As a dedicated gamer and ardent follower of the royal family’s antics, I must admit that the sight of Prince William sporting a beard was quite refreshing, breaking the monotony of his usual clean-shaven look. It was like seeing Mario with a mustache or Link with a beard – unexpected yet intriguing!
During a virtual appearance to commemorate the conclusion of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sparked conversations for various reasons. Not only did the public discuss Princess Kate’s involvement in the video message, but they were also intrigued by Prince William sporting a beard.
It appears that the beard didn’t persist for too long, as by August 27th, Prince Charles was seen driving the royal family to a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk in Scotland, and he was clean-shaven. Although only images from inside their vehicles were available, the clarity of the photographs allowed us to notice this change in his appearance.
According to Hello Magazine, the 42-year-old has resumed his clean-shaven style, having bid farewell to his recent beard that he had grown and showcased on social media. Previously, he was seen sporting a trendy beard, which gave him a rugged appearance.
Prince William has gone back to his clean shaven look in latest outing with the royal family
Given that the Prince of Wales is currently enjoying his summer vacation with his family, it’s understandable he might opt for a more casual appearance at times. Thus, spotting him sporting a beard in a social media video featuring Team GB Olympians wasn’t as unexpected as one might think, especially since it’s been quite a while since we last saw the prince with such facial hair.
Even though it appears the summer vacation isn’t fully ended (with his next public event scheduled for September 5), the royal family attending Sunday service and his clean-shaven appearance aren’t unusual given the circumstances. It’s possible we might see the prince growing a beard again this summer, but it’s highly unlikely.
It’d be delightful if we could witness Prince William sporting his beardly appearance once more; it certainly revealed a tender aspect of our future sovereign. But, given his upcoming return to royal duties, we probably won’t catch glimpses of a scruffier Prince William for some time.
