How to Find All Artifacts in Black Myth: Wukong

How to Find All Artifacts in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating through intricate worlds and battling formidable foes, I have to say that Black Myth: Wukong has truly captured my attention with its unique artifact system. These powerful vessels, each offering both passive and active abilities, add a layer of depth and strategy to the game that I find incredibly exciting.

Artifacts (Vessels) in Black Myth: Wukong function as special equipment, providing both passive and active skills upon use. They’re extremely potent and should be employed when tackling bosses or when you find yourself in challenging combat scenarios. Given their rarity, obtaining these artifacts requires dedication and effort.

Passive skills tend to increase your total stats, whereas active skills can be triggered for a significant boost that might alter the outcome of a battle.

In the game Black Myth: Wukong, you’ll discover a total of 4 special items. Uncovering the spots where each artifact is hidden will grant you the achievement called Treasure Trove.

At any moment during the story, you have the option to quickly move between chapters. Once the tale concludes, feel free to roam the locations at your leisure. Upon defeating the last boss, you’ll return to the main menu; simply choose ‘Continue’ and you’ll reappear before the final boss. You can revisit all previous locations from that point onwards. However, refrain from selecting ‘Start New Cycle’ on the main menu, as this will initiate a new game with your current save being replaced, which means no going back.

How to use artifacts

After you’ve chosen an artifact from your inventory (located beside the spirits and your gear), you need to recharge its energy source, Qi, by either taking a break or battling foes to boost it. Once fully charged, you can engage the artifact by pressing RT or R2 along with moving the left stick.

In Chapter 2, the artifact is incredibly useful for combating Dust Storms. This is crucial because the primary mechanic of the final battle in Chapter 2 involves tornadoes to manipulate your positioning. This artifact works exceptionally well against the second and third phases of Yellow Wind Sage, making it significantly easier to manage this tough opponent. Similarly, the artifact from Chapter 1 offers a decrease in fire resistance, which neutralizes many attacks from the final boss of that same region.

Fireproof Mantle

Reward for completing the secret area of Chapter 1, Ancient Guanyin Temple.

  • Active Effect: Grants immunity to burns for a short time after activation and gradually increases focus. Effective in certain environments and against certain enemies;
  • Passive: Greatly increases burn resistance and grants immunity to burn damage in lava-covered areas.
  1. Ring all 3 bells in Chapter 1;
  2. Ringing the third bell will teleport you to the secret area “Ancient Guanyin Temple”. Here you must defeat the boss “Elder Jinchi”. He will be right in front of you;
  3. After defeating Elder Jinchi, you will be teleported back to the third bell. Here, interact with the body hanging in front of the third bell to receive the Fireproof Mantle.

Wind Tamer

Reward for completing the secret area of Chapter 2 “Kingdom of Sahali”.

  • Active Effect: After activation, greatly increases damage reduction for a short time and grants immunity to strong wind;
  • Passive Effect: Greatly increases damage reduction.
  1. Complete the Drunken Boar questline to access the secret area in Chapter 2;
  2. After completing the quest line, you will enter a secret area called the Sahali Kingdom. Here, you must defeat the boss called Tiger Vanguard. This is different from the boss with the same name in Crouching Tiger Temple. Then, talk to the NPC standing on the cliff in front of you to begin the boss fight with Fuban. Defeat him to receive the Wind Tamer.

Weaver’s Needle

Reward for completing Chapter 4’s secret area, Purple Cloud Mountain.

  • Active Effect: Creates a needle that will track the movement of enemies;
  • Passive Effect: Increases critical strike chance and critical strike damage.

To access the secret area, you’ll need to overcome the Venom Daoist in two distinct spots first. Once you’ve conquered him in the secret location, you’ll receive the desired item.

  1. Defeat the Taoist of Poison in Webbed Hollow > Pool of Shattered Jade. To the right of this shrine, follow the path to find a large spider cocoon hanging from the ceiling. Attack it until the Taoist of Poison pops out, defeat him;
  2. Defeat the Taoist of Poison a second time in Temple of the Yellow Flower > Court of Illumination. From this shrine, turn 180° and then follow the path straight ahead (opposite the shrine). When the path forks, go left until you see a cutscene with the Taoist of Poison (you must have defeated him in the first area). In this fight, he has two phases, each with a full health bar. After the fight, interact with the wall in front of you to enter the secret area “Purple Cloud Mountain”.
  3. In Purple Cloud Mountain, defeat the boss “The Duskveil”. He is located at the top of the village on the central path. After defeating him, you will unlock the Weaver’s Needle.

Plantain Fan

  • Active Effect: Summon a tornado that can chase and immobilize enemies caught in its area of effect;
  • Passive effect: Moderately increases the rate of stamina recovery.

Reward for finishing Chapter 5 automatically granted, don’t forget to claim it! You’ll find it on the rewards panel prior to starting Chapter 6.

If the Plantain Fan is the fourth item you collect, the Trophy for gathering all items will be accessible on the rewards page when Chapter 5 concludes.
