Cheryl shares a sweet picture of rarely-seen son Bear, 7, as they enjoy a ‘perfect’ weekend away in the English countryside
As a die-hard fan of Cheryl, I must say, her recent Instagram post left me absolutely spellbound! The English countryside, Northern lights, and precious moments with her adorable son Bear – it all seems like a dreamy fairytale straight out of one of her beloved ballads.
On Sunday, Cheryl posted a heartwarming photo of her not-often-glimpsed son Bear, along with a simple video capturing her peaceful getaway moments on Instagram.
The artist, aged 41, co-parents a child with ex-One Direction band member Liam Payne. She prefers to shield their son from the limelight and maintain his privacy.
She posted a reel of pictures showing herself and the seven-year old enjoying a weekend away in the English countryside.
In an instant, there stood Cheryl, clad in a white night robe, alongside her son, in a sprawling field. They were captivated by the night sky, marveling at the shimmering Northern Lights.
In another place, she once enjoyed a lovely scene as the sun dipped below the horizon over the meadows, with a swing serving as her backdrop.
Cheryl also posted pictures of her feeding some chickens on the grounds of the country manor.
On Instagram, Cheryl posted: ‘The English countryside is simply unbeatable when the sun’s out, and to top it off, we were fortunate enough to witness the northern lights! A big thank you to Ben and Paul @thecountryhousediaries – it couldn’t have been more picture-perfect!’
Previously this year, Liam, who is 30 years old and Bear’s father, shared an uncommon photo of his child on Instagram, causing quite a stir among his audience.
In the picture, the musician hid his child’s face while pointing out a poster in London’s Leicester Square promoting his latest single, “Teardrops.”
He captioned the adorable shot: ‘I want to be on a billboard one day daddy’.
Fans immediately rushed to the comments failing to believe just how quickly Bear had grown.
In November Cheryl previously revealed Bear had realised that both of his parents are famous.
In conversation with British Vogue, she shared that her child finds it quite exciting that his parents are well-known pop musicians.
Inquired about the possibility of her son joining the stage during the tour, Cheryl responded: ‘The issue is that I wish for Bear to experience a typical upbringing.’
As someone who has lived a life in the public eye, I understand the value of privacy and anonymity. That’s why I don’t want people to recognize him on the street. However, he seems to have caught onto my fame. The other day, he casually mentioned, “Man, I sure am lucky to have famous parents!” I tried to downplay it by saying, “It doesn’t matter.” But he quickly retorted, “Yeah, but it’s pretty cool,” with a hint of pride in his voice. It’s a constant reminder that my life is not my own and that I cannot escape the public eye, even when I want to.
In 2016, Cheryl started dating Liam following her split with ex-spouse Jean Fernandez-Versini. Their chance encounter occurred when he was a participant on The X Factor, while she served as a judge at the time.
In March 2017, they warmly received Bear, but by July the next year, they made public that they were no longer together.
Previously, Cheryl had mentioned she was thinking about using a sperm donor for her second child, but ultimately chose not to go through with the plan.
She mentioned that her outlook on life shifted following the pandemic, and since there will be a larger age difference between her kids as a result.
She told TopMob: ‘I was so hell bent on having another before because Bear was at that perfect age. I think if you have that couple year age gap, you can still do things with them together where they’re both engaged and both interested.
Given the recent pandemic experience, the significant difference in our ages, and my advanced years, I must admit, I’m not entirely certain.
Although I haven’t exclusively focused on biological parenthood, I haven’t discounted other means of childcare nurturing. In fact, I mentioned the possibility of adoption, as my affection for infants and children is immense, and I would go to great lengths to assist or have more around. However, traditional methods like this are less common these days.
During the course of the pandemic, I found myself looking around at the world and thinking that it seems quite chaotic. Could it be wise to introduce a new soul into such a tumultuous state?
