BetBoom Dacha CS2 2024 preview featuring peacemaker

As a seasoned analyst with years of experience under my belt, I have to say that I’m quite intrigued by the upcoming BetBoom Dacha tournament. There are some teams that stand out, and others that seem to be facing more challenges.

The coach and commentator told Xpsp what he expects in BetBoom Dacha.

As a thrilled gaming enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement! The much-anticipated BetBoom Dacha CS2 2024 tournament is just around the corner, and I’ve got an exclusive sneak peek for all of you staying at home. Let’s dive into the action together!

Recently, esports.gg interviewed Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu, a former coach for teams like Team Liquid, HEROIC, MAD Lions, Imperial, and Complexity, who has since transitioned to commentating and analysis work at Counter-Strike events. The interview aimed to provide insights into the upcoming BetBoom Dacha tournament in Belgrade, Serbia.

The competition kicks off on August 24th, Saturday, with a preliminary phase involving Falcons, 9z, paiN, and BetBoom in group A, as well as Eternal Fire, FURIA, Aurora, and 9 Pandas in group B. Only the top two from each group will proceed to the double-elimination playoffs where Team Spirit, MOUZ, Virtus.pro, and HEROIC are already waiting.

As an enthusiastic follower myself, I can’t wait to share my insights about Peacemaker’s analysis on BetBoom Dacha! He’s been keeping a close eye on all the participating teams, and I can’t help but wonder whom he thinks will take the trophy, who might surprise us with their performance, and which team could fall short of expectations. Let’s delve into his predictions together!

BetBoom Dacha preview: The favorites

MOUZ

The project is so impressive that its outcomes are self-explanatory. I’m quite fond of it, as it boasts a contemporary design, features a blend of young talent, and the coach seems to have replicated a strategy akin to what Andrij “B1ad3” Ghorodensjkyj achieved with Natus Vincere.

“Dennis ‘sycrone’ Nielsen, MOUZ’s coach, works with players who were groomed under his tutelage at the academy. These players are exceptionally skilled, while also having Ludvig ‘Brollan’ Brolin, a more seasoned team member, for added experience. The project aligns well with my beliefs regarding coaching style, as sycrone plays a significant role in shaping the team’s playstyle and player development.”

From my gaming perspective, when it comes to in-game performance, they’re spot on. Their playbook is fresh and dynamic, keeping opponents guessing, with minimal blunders made. To top it off, their captain is a generation-defining leader. Therefore, based on my observations, MOUZ seems to be the clear frontrunner for me.

Spirit

Beyond just Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, there are numerous Russian teams participating in this tournament, which is sponsored by BetBoom. This event is significant for Spirit, given their less-than-impressive performance at IEM Cologne. However, their poor showing doesn’t necessarily indicate their full potential, as they may be motivated to demonstrate a better performance here.

Occasionally, a change is needed within teams to spark improvement. I believe that the events in Cologne will serve as sufficient motivation for them to perform at their peak here. They possess great talent, and their team boasts one of the best players globally right now, Donk, who is arguably the top rifler. For some reason, he’s been underperforming recently, but I haven’t noticed any changes in his role. It’s likely that something internal within the team is affecting him or opponents have studied them and Spirit, learning how to counteract him and the team.

Year after year, it’s common to find top-performing teams being analyzed by their competitors. The Spirit team remains strong and formidable, capable of causing significant trouble. If Donk is in good shape and plays up to his potential, he’s among the rare few players who could significantly impact the tournament. Given that we don’t have many elite teams here, I think Donk has all the ingredients for an outstanding performance in this tournament.

paiN

In a somewhat bold move, I’d like to express an opinion that might surprise many: Based on what paiN demonstrated in Cologne, they are strong contenders here. Despite starting in the play-ins, their exceptional skill on the server gives me confidence that they will perform well.

As a devoted fan, I have to admit that paiN seems to be struggling with the conviction that they can outmatch top-tier teams at the moment. So far, they haven’t managed to pull off a win against these elite teams, and when faced with stronger opposition in Cologne, they experienced significant challenges and failed to play their best game. However, should they manage to defeat a team like Spirit, Virtus.pro, or any other team currently in the playoffs, it would give them an enormous confidence boost and potentially propel them towards the grand finals.

BetBoom Dacha preview: The dark horses

Virtus.pro

In simpler terms, since Denis “electroNic” Sharipov joined Virtus.pro, they haven’t exactly been front-runners, but they’re not considered underdogs either. From what I’ve read in his interviews, electroNic admits that he’s not entirely comfortable within the team. He pointed out that there’s still a gap between his preferred playstyle and the way the team is currently being led by Dzhami “Jame” Ali as captain, with respect to how he likes to control things in the game.

“He mentioned that they are still striving to reach the optimal level. There was a lot of anticipation when electronic debuted, but their performance hasn’t surpassed previous results. You might recall Virtus.pro winning the Major at IEM Rio in 2022, and they’re not even near that level right now. Electronic has had plenty of experience as a captain and possesses numerous skills; he is, after all, one of CS:GO’s greatest players.”

“Adding an electronic player to Virtus.pro shows it isn’t straightforward to just insert a player into a team. In my opinion, Jame’s playstyle could be quite effective, but other teams have adapted and most now know how to counter them. Virtus.pro’s gameplay style hasn’t evolved significantly over time, which can lead to either great success or failure. Personally, I don’t believe they are a team capable of winning the BetBoom Dacha tournament. They could potentially make a strong showing or disappoint heavily.”

FURIA

For tournaments where not every top-tier team might be participating, FURIA stands out as a strong contender, given their impressive roster. Featuring players like Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato and Yuri “yuurih” Boian, who are globally recognized for their skills on any given day, they also boast a seasoned captain with extensive experience and adaptability to various playstyles. Additionally, they keep abreast of the latest game meta.

“FalleN doesn’t seem to struggle much against any team in this tournament, except perhaps Spirit at their best. If Donk is performing exceptionally well, it could pose a challenge. However, FURIA recently held their own against MOUZ and had a competitive series. I can’t imagine there being an unbeatable opponent in the play-in. It would be quite surprising if FURIA doesn’t advance past the play-in stage.”

As a gamer, I’ve finally managed to navigate through the play-in stage of IEM Cologne, something we couldn’t accomplish before. We’re shattering barriers and making progress, but it’s uncertain if we’ll continue to grow in this tournament. Just like paiN, maybe if FURIA secure a win against a team such as MOUZ, our confidence could skyrocket. However, it’s important to note that paiN currently have an edge over us.

BetBoom Dacha preview: The team likely to disappoint

HEROIC

“With all the pain in my heart because I like some of the players there, I even coached Rasmus “sjuush” Beck, the team likely to disappoint are HEROIC. I’d not pick them, but after watching their recent losses, I think their problem is outside the server.”

Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov encountered visa issues and was unable to participate in every game, leading me to believe that maintaining a positive mental state might be challenging for the team. For instance, could you tell me which team degster is part of? Is he planning to stay with them? The uncertainty surrounding his future seems to be having an impact, but it should not be used as an explanation because the Counter-Strike performance on the server has not been particularly impressive.

“The appointment of Damjan ‘kyxsan’ Stoilkovski as captain by head coach Eetu “sAw” Saha presents a significant hurdle, given his role as an In-Game Leader (IGL) and his previous association with Apeks. While kyxsan has been part of Apeks in the past, I’m not entirely convinced that he will seamlessly adapt to leading an international team like HEROIC, considering the results he achieved during his time there.”

Based on my years of coaching and observing teams, I believe that he has the potential to become a great captain, but there are areas where he needs improvement. From what I’ve seen so far, he hasn’t demonstrated strong leadership skills and isn’t getting the best out of his players yet. Additionally, his individual performance could use some work. However, it’s important to note that he is still young and has plenty of time to grow and develop.
