Doctor Aphra is back in ‘Republic under Siege’
As a seasoned Star Wars gamer with a lifetime of intergalactic adventures under my belt, I can confidently say that the return of Doctor Aphra is music to my lightsaber-wielding ears! Ever since her electrifying run by Alyssa Wong concluded earlier this year, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the roguish archaeologist’s next move. Now, with the commencement of the Star Wars: Battle of Jakku comic event, I can hardly contain my excitement as she makes a comeback in all her chaotic glory!
Get ready, dear one, as Doctor Aphra returns with her signature blend of chaos! Marvel.com has announced that this roguish, unpredictable archaeologist will reappear in the grand Star Wars event titled Star Wars: Battle of Jakku. The second part of this series, called Republic Under Siege, begins on November 20.
The “Battle of Jakku” is a three-part limited series that sheds light on the final skirmish of the Galactic Republic Civil War and the Imperial Era’s conclusion. The initial installment, titled “Rising Insurgency“, was unveiled last month, with these comic books paving the way for the upcoming Star Wars comics series set to release next year.
The comic series titled “Star Wars: Battle of Jakku” is being led by writer Alex Segura. Alongside him are three talented illustrators: Leonard Kirk, Stefano Raffaele, and Jethro Morales. Segura expressed his enthusiasm about this project on Marvel.com, stating, “It’s a tremendous privilege to have the opportunity to bring this forgotten chapter of Star Wars lore to life, working with such an exceptional group of artists in the three limited series of Battle of Jakku. Our narrative will be expansive – featuring familiar characters you cherish, as well as fresh, intriguing elements that expand the mythos.”
We’ll not only give readers a front-row seat to the final battle of the Galactic Civil War – we’ll reframe the aftermath of the Battle of Endor and introduce a new, menacing threat that will keep our heroes guessing. The goal for all of us is to turn up the volume and make sure this adventure stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the other stories of the era. As the Empire collapses, a new darkness arises!
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but wonder about Doctor Aphra. In the synopsis for issue one, it mentions that our heroes are miraculously rescued by none other than a beloved guest star and ally. And guess who graces the cover of issue two? None other than Luke Skywalker! It seems in this issue, she’ll team up with him to fend off an unexpected assault, as the remnants of the Empire prepare for their next strategic move. Exciting times ahead!
It’s great news that Aphra is back! Her critically acclaimed stint written by Alyssa Wong concluded earlier this year, leaving fans eager for her return. Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait much longer.
The “Battle of Jakku” comic series initiates in October with “Insurgency Rising”. Following this, starting from November 20, the sequel titled “Republic Under Siege” unfolds, introducing once again the beloved comic character, Doctor Aphra.
