‘There is a special place in hell for them’: Matthew Perry got rid of his nurses… and then was left alone to die. Disturbing new details about his death are revealed by ALISON BOSHOFF in a special report
As a seasoned healthcare professional with decades of experience under my belt, I find myself deeply troubled by the tragic tale of the late musician, MP Perry. Having spent most of my career saving lives and ensuring the well-being of my patients, I can’t help but shake my head in disbelief at the circumstances surrounding his death.
It’s apparent from the findings of the post-mortem investigation that Matthew Perry didn’t intend to die. Instead, it appears he was repeatedly and carelessly pursuing a state of drug-induced unconsciousness, which ultimately led to his demise.
On October 28, 2023, the day he passed away, was intended to resemble the four days leading up to it – a day planned for receiving injections of ketamine, a drug approved by the FDA for inducing and maintaining anesthesia during surgeries.
According to court records, it was disclosed that every day, the cherished actor from Friends requested his live-in aid, Kenny Iwamasa (referred to as ‘Alfred’ by Perry’s ‘Batman’), to administer the medication to him no less than six times.
Some days he even injected him eight times.
As recounted in his testimonial to the prosecutors, on the very day my employer passed away, I – lacking any formal medical education – administered injections to him at 8:30 am, and later again at 12:45 pm while Perry was engrossed in a movie. Subsequently, I was instructed to ready a hot tub for Perry before being ordered: “Prepare a generous dose for me.”
Iwamasa acknowledges that he followed orders when Perry was either close by or already in the hot tub at his Pacific Palisades mansion. Subsequently, he left for errands and was away for approximately two and a half hours.
On his return, he found his employer face-down and unresponsive in the water.
The medical examiner determined that the 54-year-old actor’s death was caused by an overdose of ketamine, and drowning played a role in his passing.
After Perry’s passing, those close to him have been seeking clarity regarding several unsettling aspects of his life and demise, expressing growing curiosity and concern.
Meanwhile, as prosecutors pursue justice for those suspected of involvement in Perry’s death, an increasing number of queries are surfacing instead.
Pondering over this situation, I can’t help but question: Why was the actor abandoned in his home, left to face his fate alone? Could it have been different if his caregivers, who were under his employ for years due to his health complications and addiction struggles, had not been dismissed?
Why and who did let them go?
Imagine if the fate of my idol, Perry, hadn’t fallen into the capable hands of Kenny Iwamasa, who, prior to his role in Perry’s life, served as an executive assistant. Essentially, he was like a secretary to Perry’s agent, Doug Chapin. What a different world it would be without Kenny’s dedication and care!
If I had been under the care of an individual with previous experience as a ‘sober companion’ and a background in working with substance abusers, how different might my journey have been?
There are numerous questions regarding the nature of Perry’s conduct, with several sources labeling him as manipulative and sometimes harsh or even cruel. To what degree was Iwamasa influenced or pressured by his employer due to these perceived traits?
I’ve had my fair share of complex situations in life, but this one takes the cake. You wouldn’t believe what happened when I heard about Kenny and his actions towards that guy who wrote a book about sobriety. It’s simply unforgivable to stick a needle full of drugs into someone who’s trying to live a clean life. I mean, really?
A trustworthy insider indicates that Perry spent most of last year in solitude, with only a small circle of companions.
Earlier, he was supported by not just two personal assistants but also a full nursing team, who were there to oversee his medication intake according to prescriptions and handle any potential medical crises.
In the year 2023, I made the personal choice to discontinue my nursing care. My loved ones have no doubt that this decision was mine to make. According to US Weekly, there were instances where I displayed verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive behavior towards at least one of my caregivers.
According to various reports, Perry’s fondness for ketamine, replacing his long-standing battle with oxycontin, appeared to bring about its own fatal outcomes, which any healthcare expert would anticipate.
According to the district court’s argument, it is generally acknowledged within the medical field that a healthcare provider should keep an eye on a patient after they have received ketamine, due to the potential health risks associated with this substance.
During the care of a patient given ketamine, it’s crucial that medical personnel can quickly reach essential life-saving tools such as a defibrillator, an oxygen source, devices for tracking the patient’s heart rate and respiratory function, and medications to guarantee their wellbeing.
None of this was present for Perry at the time.
It’s clear that this situation was very risky, as can be seen. In his agreement with prosecutors, Iwamasa admitted that during the month before Perry’s demise, he discovered Perry unconscious at least twice due to drug abuse.
The plea agreement clearly specifies: ‘The demise of Victim MP was a predictable outcome stemming from the conspiracy, given factors such as the regular and substantial doses of ketamine the defendant was giving to Victim MP, the defendant’s observations of Victim MP’s unfavorable responses to ketamine injections in October 2023, and the fact that the defendant was providing ketamine injections to Victim MP without any medical training or access to necessary equipment for addressing adverse reactions to ketamine.’
It wasn’t a surprise, then, that he died – it was an inevitable outcome of his uncontrollable addiction. Some people are now suggesting that if nothing else, the signs of his addiction should have been glaringly apparent in his financial documents.
Iwamasa acknowledges that he encountered Dr. Salvador Plasencia on seven separate occasions and transferred a sum of $55,000 to him within a span of 29 days.
It appears that Lisa Ferguson, Perry’s longtime business manager, was responsible for approving and paying off all expenses, including those of her staff, according to reports. Additionally, it’s said that Perry had a significant trust fund worth $120 million, which Lisa managed and oversaw all financial expenditures.
It’s been suggested to me that since Ferguson delegated all of his financial matters to Lisa or her office, it’s likely that someone within that circle would have been aware of his spending. Given that we’re not discussing small, cash-at-the-ATM transactions but rather larger bills and credit card activity, it seems reasonable to assume there was a witness to his outgoings.
It should of course be stressed that Lisa may not have known and there could be some other explanation.
In an October 2023 text message, as detailed in the indictment, Iwamasa confided to Plasencia that he found it challenging to make frequent trips to the bank fast enough to match the pace of Perry’s expenses.
Ferguson chose not to address queries concerning Perry’s team, and neither did the representatives from his property nor charity.
So what is the truth about his circle?
In 2023, one of the assistants, Briana Brancato, decided to leave her position after serving for a span of seven years. It’s worth noting that Morgan Moses, who lived with him and served as his sober companion, also parted ways in the previous year.
In 2018, she became part of his team, having worked previously at a rehabilitation facility. However, she departed following a heated argument where he physically pushed her onto a mattress.
Shortly after, Iwamasa secured a job. However, he now stands to serve up to fifteen years in prison due to his guilty plea for providing the fatal drugs that took his employer’s life.
In a similar vein, Dr. Mark Chavez, a doctor based in San Diego, along with drug dealer Erik Fleming, have both admitted their guilt regarding one charge of distribution.
Dr Plasencia has pleaded not guilty to ten charges including conspiracy to distribute ketamine.
Jasveen Sangha, who’s been referred to as the “California Ketamine Queen,” has denied all accusations related to owning and distributing ketamine in a court of law.
Amidst growing allegations and exposures of Perry’s seemingly nihilistic lifestyle, an additional intriguing query arises: what enabled him to endure for such a prolonged period?
