I’ve grown accustomed to the gang’s antics and their never-ending misadventures, but it seems like we’ll have to wait until 2025 for our next fix!

According to the latest update from Matt on TVLine, there was speculation about when the new season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will premiere. Matt did get some information, but it seems we’ll have to wait a while longer as he hinted that season 17 might not arrive until 2025.
On August 4, 2024, Charlie Day announced via Instagram that he would be joining the writing team starting from August 12th. This indicates that the creative crew for “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” has begun work on season 17. Given this timeline, it seems feasible that we might see the new season released in 2025, fingers crossed it doesn’t take any longer than that!
It’s become quite common for television enthusiasts to accept the reality that there will often be a two-year wait between seasons, especially with streaming shows. Even though I understand the need for high-quality productions like “Stranger Things,” “House of the Dragon,” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” to invest in extensive visual effects and post-production work, it’s still a long wait.
As a dedicated gamer, I find myself in a peculiar predicament when it comes to the comedy series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Unlike most comedies, this one seems to take its sweet time between seasons, making me wonder if it’s a challenge to film and produce. The last episode from season 16 aired on FX back in July 2023.
