As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience, I’ve seen countless celebrity relationships unfold and disintegrate over the years. The latest chapter in the tumultuous love story between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck is particularly fascinating to me, not just because they are high-profile stars, but also because I can’t help but feel a sense of déjà vu.

Jennifer Lopez will be at the September 6 premiere of her film Unstoppable.

However, Ben Affleck, her former partner who co-produced the drama along with her, is reportedly not expected to attend, as per Page Six.

At the Toronto International Film Festival, the movie is scheduled to debut in the Special Presentation category. Later in December 2024, it will have a restricted cinematic launch, with Amazon MGM Studios handling the distribution.

According to DailyMail.com’s report from earlier this week, some movie producers were attempting to arrange for the two stars to attend the Toronto premiere together, with the aim of generating excitement and buzz about the film.

But those producers did not get their way as now only one of them will be there.

As a diehard admirer, let me tell you that this intriguing venture hails straight from the creative powerhouse of Ben’s production company, Artists Equity – a brainchild he nurtured alongside his cherished companion, Matt Damon, over the years.

Affleck, 51, and Damon, 53, are among the 14 producers on the film.

55-year-old Lopez portrays a wrestler’s mother in the production, and she collaborated on the project with her producing companion Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.

The Amazon MGM Studios film wrapped production this past January.

Jennifer and Ben separated in April.

In the past, they acted alongside each other in the movies “Gigli” from 2003 and “Jersey Girl” from 2004. Additionally, he was featured in her film titled “This Is Me… Now,” as well as her documentary named “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”

The movie “Unstoppable” focuses on the life story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born without one leg but went on to win a national title in 2011 during his time at Arizona State University.

In the role of Robles is actor Jharrel Jerome, who starred in Moonlight. The ensemble also features Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle, and Michael Peña.

The film “Unstoppable” was helmed by director William Goldenberg, a former collaborator of Affleck from their work together editing the 2023 project “Air,” as well as the movie “Argo” in 2012.

Ben and Jennifer have another movie they worked on together: Kiss Of The Spiderwoman.

Drawing inspiration from Manuel Puig’s eponymous novel, I delve into a captivating narrative set within the walls of an Argentinian prison in 1981. Stepping into the shoes of the protagonist, Lopez, I portray the enigmatic Aurora – a fantastical woman conjured by Luis Molina, a fellow inmate and talented hairdresser serving an eight-year term for alleged improprieties with a minor.

Affleck and Damon are among the co-producers through Artists Equity.

Affleck was asked by CBS Sunday Mornings in March 2023 about collaborating with Lopez on the film.

I can’t help but feel an immense sense of delight and satisfaction whenever I engage in activities alongside her or witness her thrive, especially when we’re both heading off to work together. It’s truly a privilege to share this journey with my wife, and equally so with my dearest friend.

If you find yourself disliking your coworkers and facing challenges or stress at work, these situations could potentially lead to feelings of depression, anxiety, and discomfort, he noted.

‘And conversely, [if] you love the people at work, you probably have a pretty good life, you know?

Affleck added during the interview that while it may not appear that she’s doing it out of favor for him, she indeed is.

Ben and Jen wed in Las Vegas in July 2022.

Earlier this year, Variety questioned if Jennifer Lopez and Affleck might act together again in a film. Lopez responded, “Perhaps, if it’s the right project.”

‘I mean, we love working together and being together, so maybe,’ she added.

On Tuesday morning, Ben was spotted with his former spouse, Jennifer Garner, and their son Fin. They had just dropped off their oldest child, Violet (age 18), at college.

Hours later Lopez filed for divorce. It was her two year wedding anniversary with him.
