Death in Paradise drops exclusive finale clip as DI Mervin’s problems are far from over

Good news for fans of Death in Paradise! The BBC has released a sneak peek at the season finale, which was delayed last week to air the Comic Relief: Funny for Money special. Viewers have been eagerly awaiting the episode to find out how the unexpected appearance of Detective Inspector Mervin’s niece, Eloise (played by Avah Cotterell), will impact the case.

If you’re curious about how this new family situation is unfolding, the preview suggests things will be difficult for Mervin (Don Gilet).

In a preview of the upcoming episode, Detective Inspector Mervin (played by Shantol Jackson) admits he’s not doing well before revealing a surprising family connection. DS Naomi Thomas recognizes this news has upset Mervin, especially since he recently distanced himself from his troubled brother, Solomon, who is now in jail, needing some space from his manipulative behavior.

Even though they fired Eloise, the last scene of the previous episode showed she plans to stay, and this might actually be a good thing for Mervin’s storyline on Death in Paradise.

The final episode of Death in Paradise will air right before the season four premiere of Beyond Paradise. The new season of the spin-off introduces a twist: Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman learns he has to let one of his team members go due to budget cuts at the Shipton Abbott police station.

What to Read Next

Things are about to get more challenging for Martha (Sally Bretton) and Humphrey, as they face the stress of leaving their boat and moving into a house, according to recent comments from Marshall.

Marshall shared in an interview with Digital Spy that his character, Humphrey, is deeply fond of boats. While Humphrey romanticizes the idea of boat life, Marshall believes the actual experience has been disappointing, leaving him feeling like he’s lost something special.

He went on to say that they’ll need to find a new place to live, which will be difficult. Humphrey tends to be a bit of a dreamer and isn’t very practical, so it falls to Martha to handle everything.

While money is a concern, they work incredibly well together. Their strengths complement each other perfectly, and it’s wonderful to see how they navigate things as a team.

The season 15 finale of Death in Paradise will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Friday, March 27th at 9pm. You can also watch Beyond Paradise and Return to Paradise on BBC One and stream them on BBC iPlayer.
