Mamie Laverock reunites with family in homecoming after 5-story fall: ‘Dreams do come true’

After spending several months recovering, Mamie Laverock has returned home, reuniting with her loved ones and cherished friends, following her miraculous survival of a five-story plunge from a hospital balcony in May.
20-year-old “When Calls the Heart” actor, Laverock, was seen reuniting with her family and friends earlier this week as per a video shared on her Facebook account on Monday. The video shows Laverock’s loved ones excitedly waiting for her in the driveway of a house. A woman displays a neon-green sign while another captures the emotional homecoming on camera.
Afterward, the bus driver helps with the dramatic unveiling of Laverock by opening the rear doors of an ambulance, revealing the actor lying on a stretcher inside. Laverock, sporting a yellow crocheted hat, flashes a smile and extends her arm towards the people she loves who are gathered in front of her.
The Laverock family joyfully welcomed back their “This Means War” and “The Hollow Child” actor by decorating with multi-hued balloons like a rainbow, a similarly vibrant cake, and a sign saying “Home Sweet Home”.
“Dreams do come true,” read the caption on another Facebook post. “Welcome Home Mamie.”
On May 11th, Laverock experienced a sudden, unspecified health crisis which necessitated her mother’s immediate journey to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, “in order to save her life,” as stated on their GoFundMe page for the Hallmark Channel actress. After two weeks, Laverock was escorted from a specialized hospital unit and brought onto a balcony where she fell from a height of five stories, according to an update on their GoFundMe page.
“At that point, the family shared that she had suffered critical injuries requiring several complex operations, and she is now being kept alive with life-sustaining machinery.”
At the end of May, Nicole Rockmann, Laverock’s mother, spoke to The Times about her daughter’s condition. She shared that Laverock had regained consciousness and was conscious following a very painful fall. It is important to note that the fall was not an intentional act by Laverock herself, who was undergoing treatment elsewhere at that time. Rockmann expressed her desire for accountability from the staff of the healthcare facility where Laverock sustained her injuries.
Ever since Laverock suffered an accident, her loved ones have been regularly informing followers about her health progress and recuperation on Facebook. In a post dated June 26th, Rockmann expressed that Laverock’s recovery journey would be prolonged. On July 10th, before the family ended their fundraiser, they shared a photo capturing the special moment when Laverock managed to pull herself up and cling onto her mother for their first embrace since she was hospitalized.
In August, Rockmann posted another update. “I am grateful to the surgeons, to prayers, and to God. Today, Mamie stood up on her own for the first time,” she expressed.
Apart from her immediate family, Laverock also gained encouragement from her fellow actors at Hallmark, such as Johannah Newmarch, Andrea Brooks, and Nicolina Pavek. They extended their good wishes to her through posts on Instagram.
“Mamie expressed her heartfelt appreciation in an update on her GoFundMe campaign that successfully collected approximately $27,000 (or about 39,000 Canadian dollars). She’s at a loss for words to express her gratitude. She simply says, ‘I love you all. Thank you again.'”
